Stop Assuming Biological Male in Skirt = MIS (They're probably pre-op transwomen)
Stop Assuming Biological Male in Skirt = MIS (They're probably pre-op transwomen)
Seems like posters in this forum often see any biologically male individual wearing a skirt and assume, "Wow! MIS is growing in popularity!"
Have you ever considered that there are many, many pre-op transwomen? That the majority of transwomen have never had surgery and could easily pass as male? That many transwomen (including my former colleague) have never had surgery, never had hormones, never wear makeup, wear only men's shirts, and that the only "feminine" piece of clothing they normally wear is a skirt?
Sure, transwomen have the right to wear skirts and identify as whatever they want. But just be real: if you see a biological male in a skirt, chances are it's a pre-op transwoman rather than a man in a skirt.
We MIS are even more of a rarity than it would seem.

Yes we are seen as Gender Nonconforming which is not a big deal for me because I am gender nonconforming.

Umm... No.
Really it doesn't matter. If a guy is going around in a skirt, with no other visible signals that he is trans, he's just a guy in a skirt to anyone who sees him, unless they talk to him and he says, "no, actually I'm trans." At that point the difference is basically linguistic.
It's this sort of thinking, that any guy who does a single thing that could be coded female by society is automatically trans, gay, or whatever, that led to this absurdly small "man box" of acceptable male behavior in the first place.

yeah as far as the average joe is concerned if it looks like a man it is a man, humans aren't telepathic that don't sense intentions.

Hell, humanity would be in a much better place if we could all stop making assumptions about each other.
Begin with anything non-conforming, quit that because it prevents me assuming or presuming anything about you and being right!
Specific to our cause, cross-dresser, transvestite, gender fluid, pre-op trans or me, just variations of the male condition.
Their choice of clothes should not be a basis for any assumptions, but more importantly moral judgement.
Steve.
BTW my soon to be ex-wife of 44 years still maintains that I am trying to look like a female, sadly there are many more like her out there.

To be honest I don’t care what anyone thinks of me wearing a skirt. When I was younger I did hence the reason I didn’t wear skirts or any gender fluid outfits. Now that I’m got older I wear what I want to wear and that includes skirts, dresses, tights and leggings and experiment with gender fluid fashions because I like the look and feel of skirts, dresses and tights.
In an ideal world I would like to wear skirts, dresses and tights and still be seen as a man just like women wear trousers and other male clothes and still be seen as a woman but unfortunately this isn’t the case. In saying that I don’t care if anyone thinks I’m gay, trans or weird for wearing what I like. I know I’m a straight and heterosexual but if they think otherwise then so be it.

My name is Arty. I’m a guy with a passion for wearing skirts, dresses and tights and a hobbiest musician and artist.

Stevie, perhaps you should say "That makes two of us"STEVIE wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 9:00 am Hell, humanity would be in a much better place if we could all stop making assumptions about each other.

In reply to the thread.
Yes there are lot of transwomen out there and people make assumptions. Like for instance: all men are predators - that's why trans women are hated, they are seen as predatory males in a dress. Transmen are ignored for the same reason - they are just confued girls.
If you wear a skirt, act like a man, and walk like a man. Then you a man in a skirt.
If you wear a skirt, and act like a women, walk like a women then you are most probably (but not certainly) trans.
Gender nonconforming? I think we all, in this group fall into that category because we don't conform to the expectations of society.
It's about time someone did something. Have you been in the mens section lately? Its dire.
