Up until now, I've made it a rule to enter a new country wearing trousers, and wear then until I get the feel of the country and its people - usually the transfer from airport to hotel is long enough - before losing the pants for the rest of the holiday.
I wore a sarong when we flew back from Malta last year, and it was sooo comfortable; I'm tempted to wear one on the flight out this year. I have two thing to consider: (1) the trouser rule I outlined above, and (2) it's so perishing cold in England at 5 am on a May morning

The hurdle is Croatian immigration; I don't want to be singled out and taken into a small room .....
Any thoughts guys?
