I always heard that one as, "old vinegar in a new bottle", but the sentiment is precisely the same. Re-packaged stale nonsense.
Google howver has actual information on what people are clicking on so it's a little more significant.
Google have a tabulation of what click-bait the lemmings are clicking on and likely no real indication of whether a conscious human being ever reads the actual content (if any).
The whole thing becomes BS again when they make judgements like in 2027 men will be wearing skirts. They won't but maybe more will.
The numbers, if detectable, will be very very low until we can correct the course that society has found itself on -- and that may take generations now because of the damage done recently. It's vastly easier to wreck a civilisation than create or heal one.
One thing that is impossible to predict is popular culture.
Actually, it's surprisingly easy. Popular "culture" is slow to answer steering inputs (if it answers at all) and the inertia is immense because of the mass. Set your sights low, and you'll get close -- and assuming the worst is frequently a useful tactic.
I glimpsed the current mess back in the 1970s, but did not think it would be as bad as it has in reality, but the decisions I made at the time (like not breeding) turned out to be very, very good ones -- even though my family thought I was nuts. Fortunately, I'm one of the last ones alive; most of the others are already gone; they never saw the collapse.
