Men in skirts google trends

Post by Barleymower »

Google has made it's mark by mapping what the population is doing through it's searches. It has proven to be a very accurate barometer of how people behave.

Google trends is freely available and I did try this while back but decided not to make a post becuse my obseravtion was MIS is knocking along the bottom. However the website below sees it differently.

Headlines are searches for MIS is on the increase and predicted to go mainstream by 2027. I won't hold my breath 🙂

Interesting, i've also noticed that there seems to be a lot more casual lookers on this site too over the past couple of weeks so hopefully we might see a bit of a change (by that i mean you might be out & about and see another MIS in the street once in a while).

Not surprised when the most popular choices were listed as kilts, A-line, and pleated.

However, I doubt that "Sissy micro mini skirt" will help MIS become mainstream.

The interest is out there but there needs to be a change in attitude towards men.

No it won't help us become mainstream and it shows how niche we are.

Those product trends only count things from Chinese suppliers, not what males are actually ordering in total, so who knows.

It's kind of interesting, isn't it? We read the breathless hype about "Men in Skirts are TRENDING!" and yet nothing ever comes of it (like so much else that's hyped into the stratosphere).

I think we can safely let this meme go. It's not going to happen in our lifetimes. In the (highly unlikely) event that it does, it'll happen independently of us, and likely for all the wrong reasons.

Trending is a BS put about when somebody wants to grab attention on some old news. The phrase "old wine in new bottles" comes to mind.
Google howver has actual information on what people are clicking on so it's a little more significant. The whole thing becomes BS again when they make judgements like in 2027 men will be wearing skirts. They won't but maybe more will.

One thing that is impossible to predict is popular culture.

I always heard that one as, "old vinegar in a new bottle", but the sentiment is precisely the same. Re-packaged stale nonsense.

Google have a tabulation of what click-bait the lemmings are clicking on and likely no real indication of whether a conscious human being ever reads the actual content (if any).

The numbers, if detectable, will be very very low until we can correct the course that society has found itself on -- and that may take generations now because of the damage done recently. It's vastly easier to wreck a civilisation than create or heal one.
One thing that is impossible to predict is popular culture.
Actually, it's surprisingly easy. Popular "culture" is slow to answer steering inputs (if it answers at all) and the inertia is immense because of the mass. Set your sights low, and you'll get close -- and assuming the worst is frequently a useful tactic.

I glimpsed the current mess back in the 1970s, but did not think it would be as bad as it has in reality, but the decisions I made at the time (like not breeding) turned out to be very, very good ones -- even though my family thought I was nuts. Fortunately, I'm one of the last ones alive; most of the others are already gone; they never saw the collapse.

Carl when I see that "Sissy mini skirts" are just as prevelant as MIS, it obvious that we are very low on the horizon. After all there can't be that many men identifying as "sissy". If there are then the world is in world.
isn't the fear of the wider community? That MIS are a bunch of sissy's?

In terms of Pop Culture it's impossible tell what will still be around in years to come and what is a flash in the pan. I would prefer MIS to grow slowly and reach critical mass, rather than a flash in the pan.

Well, first of all I never wrote the words "sissy mini skirt", somebody else did. I wear short skirts during the summer months and, to the best of my knowledge, have never been referred to as a "sissy".

Whomever wrote that has got a serious case of "Father Knows Best" mentality which needs to be "corrected", because that's not the way things work in a functioning society (not that this is a "functioning society" any longer).

Indeed, but some extrapolations can be made using today's exemplars and applying some thought experiment to it.

If MIS is to grow as a movement, the elder generation will have to die off first to clear the way for newer thinking. This is going to take time for natural attrition to do the job. And, yes, it's going to grow slowly. Whether it reaches critical mass is open to speculation, but if it does it'll be a very slow ramp-up and not a sudden massive excursion.

Carl I don't want to get into a sissy skirt debate and I suspect neither do you.
The reference comes from the piece. They put that skirt together with the kilt. The inference being that the kilt shares the same space a afore mentioned skirt.
No offence stated or implied. I'm sure everything you wear is stylish.

Indeed, because the whole thesis is garbage.

Once cannot compare The Kilt with any sort of skirt in the same sentence. Even trying to do so largely invalidates the original argument because of the baggage associated with The Kilt.

None was taken. My intent was simply to contradict the "sissy" thesis. I've been called vastly worse in my life.
