Union Kilts up for sale

Last night I was checking out utility kilts, with a view to spending some money from Christmas and Birthday. I noted that at Union Kilts there are some big reductions. This morning I went back to the site and elected to buy a charcoal grey denim number at £12.50 (really!) https://unionkilts.com/product/charcoal ... enim-kilt/

Just about to checkout, I noticed a banner on the site:

UNION KILTS is FOR SALE

The sale of the business includes all stock, the website and social media accounts. Email Sales@unionkilts.com if interested.

Let's hope that someone comes forward. We don't want to lose another supplier of male fashion freedom.

Al, since the original post is 5 years old, I think that horse has bolted.

Yeah, it has been close to 2 years since I posted about the Union Kilts web site...being replaced by something selling jewelry. I think that company is defunct.

Reviewing the links thread, it looks like several kilt companies have gone out of business. A reminder that that the market for kilts is a small one.

The next obvious step is casual skirts from the other side of the aisle in male drab and other plan styles. From there it's just the wearer's style and comfort with standing out.
Based on images posted by members, I think that a few styles could be borrowed and adapted for men.

Regarding Union Kilts, I was emailing him around the time he was selling the business about the stock he was selling, I was looking at a lamb leather kilt that he had, he was checking what he had, he sent me pictures of one of the leather kilts he had while he was looking for one in my size. He said he was selling the business due to deteriorating health.

One day the emails stopped, and given that nobody seems to have heard from him, I suspect that he may have passed away.

My two cents worth, no one should be limited in the styles they want to wear.

If we are to get more men to wear skirts then styles that are not a big leap from their 'manly' wear need to be readily available. They also need to see that other men are wearing skirts looking similar to their style.

But as i said at the start none of us should be limited in our style.

Barry is correct. We should never be limited in our styles or colors. I do not care if other men ever start wearing skirts because the vast majority of men are herd/pack animals and will never wear skirts because they are worried about being perceived as feminine. For me, I am a feminine male. Skirts and other feminine items are my way of separating myself from the pathetic herd that is confined to the ManBox and will forever remain there because they are afraid of appearing feminine. If skirts ever become popular for men, they will be skirts that conform to the criteria of the ManBox being heavy, dark colors, and entirely utilitarian. They will probable resemble cargo pants. I want no part of that sh1t, so I will just continue wearing women’s skirts. The only solution is that ALL skirts and women’s clothing needs to become de-gendered, but that will never happen because there are too many knuckle-dragging Neanderthals in our society.

Jamie, I believe you would like this story of a schoolboy in skirts.

Just ignore the pronoun mistake in the story.

Well, perhaps they won't. Perhaps a majority of men will stick to trousers.

Perhaps MIS will become socially acceptable, but only a small minority will wear them.

The kilties may remain the largest grouping in such a minority. And (other than a few mavericks) MIS might be divided by:

1. Subculture. For example, the skirts of Goth men.

2. Activity. Examples would include contra dancing, and scooter skirts (worn over trousers).
