Great look! A denim skirt with no socks and sneakers. Was wondering what would look good and be comfy for the summer other than sandals...

That's some awesome lookin garb there CR! I like that look.

My reason for not posting many photos is that I really don't have a tremendous amount. The pictures I do have are ones that I've taken myself using the timer function on the camera. I've been around friends kilted frequently, but the problem is that they don't usually carry a camera with them, and don't take very many pictures. I'm a picture taking nut myself, and I'm ususally on the other end of the lens!

I only have a handful myself, and there's certainly no shame in using your camera's timing function -- that's how I got the shot of my red and black rig. The other one was taken by my wife, as was one of me in my white mini that I haven't "published". Most everything else was shot by remote control on my digital camera.

Speaking of pitcures taken with timers or webcams, we seem to have lost "frankie_says", which is a shame. Hopefully all is well with him.

I bought a kilt in June 2013. It took 6 months to make and receive from my friendly Irish store in Fredricksburg Va , not that the store had anything to do with the delay. The winter was very cold around here and now, early April 2014, it's warmed up. A picture will be forthcoming.

Is there a photo gallery?

I can't seem to find it and didn't know there ever was one. (Was it in the old site Tom's cafe?)

Start a thread in the "pics and looks" area of the Cafe. Pictures in there can only be viewed by registered members who are logged on.

I've posted a few photos, but not sure what the gallery is, since I consider the Pics & Looks subforum to just be a part of the forum. I've also posted tons of photos on flickr and lookbook. So, don't really care what others will think.

That's part of the forum isn't it? - I am of course aware this area exists when you register and log in!

The Pics and Looks is indeed a part of the forum, a part Carl added so that people could post pictures of themselves. I always thought of a Gallery as a place to put pictures. I see a resemblance between the two ideas, but then, I am easily confused!

To me a gallery would look something like this on Flickr (results when I searched for "man skirt")

https://www.flickr.com/search/?q=man%20skirt

ie mainly pictures and very little text (you might recognise some folks from this forum)

I have to agree, that does qualify as a gallery.

I haven't ever seen that sort of display as part of a forum though, I suppose different software would be required with another site linked to the main site.

Yes, the two milieu are entirely different thematically, and that would absolutely require another software package to run it. I'm kept busy enough looking after the maintenance of the one piece we run here, and we have been cracked into in the past. Whilst I've gotten quite good at keeping miscreants out of phpBB, I'd have to learn the internal intimates of whatever bit of "gallery" software we might use.

We did have one here in the past, but it was a constant source of bother and break-ins, and Bob abandoned it before I took over. Just getting the two disparate pieces working together for single-sign-on would likely be a pain in the backside.

So, even though it's "less than optimal (much less, "ideal"), we decided to "bend" phpBB a bit. Sometimes it works and folks post their own imagery in their own threads, and sometimes imagery gets plopped down wherever. I don't want to be a Net-Nanny (or, worse, a Net-Nazi) about it so I just let it ride. There is a link to that section's "special" "rules" at near the top-of-content on every page, and if anybody cares they can (Please) read it.

On this site, and others will be different -- sometimes vastly -- when posting (or replying to) a message there's an area just below the composition pane that has two sections to it, "Filename" and "File comment". To the right of the text field to the right of the block-title of "Filename" is a button labeled "Browse...". Pushing "Browse..." opens up another window that allows one to select files. Once the desired file (or files) are selected and the "Open" (or something similar) is selected, that window will close, one attaches titles to the files (images) in the "File comment" area, then selects "Add the file" and then pushes the "Submit" button below the "File comment" area.
