Well, yes, but that's by measuring using a particular calendar -- and there are plenty of others to choose from. The Chinese have a perfectly good one, and the Mayan calendar is still in operation (for a wee bit longer).

I do not feel particularly different today then I did yesterday, and I'll probably not feel all that different tomorrow than I did the day before, so I'll chalk that up to good luck. There is, of course, the long-term general slowdown of which I'm aware; for instance I don't eat as much as I used to because I don't have to as my metabolism has slowed down, but I can still get out and walk a few miles, I can still shovel snow (although I hate
that), and I can still acquit myself reasonably with other physical activity.
In a little more than a week's time I shall enter the second half-century of my existence. I'll likely brag about that for a few minutes before my pals tell me to shut up about it.
