But we have those rights now, no one has been arrested for their clothing choices in quite a while. It's only the way some people "think" about our clothing choices that we want to change. You can wear anything you please almost anywhere as long as what you wear is covering your private parts. In the USA, you can have anyone arrested for fighting you or attacking you or discriminating against you in any way. :D
You are right, However how many men could wear a skirt to work and be left alone ?

Here's one! {waves}

I rather routinely wear skirts to work, and it's a non-event save for the occasional positive comment when I get something new or put something really good looking together. There are also at least two other guys in the community who wear skirts to work. So, it is possible.

Cool, I wear kilts a lot and get awy with it, i have bought the pinstripe kilt and the black kilt and there is not a huge fuss at work. I attended the interview in a kilt so that kinda marked the card.

More than you think, the problem is, most are too afraid of "what people will think" to give it a try. Those that HAVE tried, have found out it's pretty much a non-issue with most bosses being far more interested in how well you do your job than how many legs you have how many tubes on. Two legs in ONE tube is no different than two legs in two tubes as long as your work is up to par. :D :D :D :D :D :D

If you ever walked through the Microsoft building and into the part where the geniuses all work, you'd see far more MUGs than you'd ever imagine you would..Lots of ponytails too. :D :D
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

I suspect that the key point here is to keep the look you're going after appropriate for both your situation and your own sense of style; with that balance, your own comfort with it will likely overpower anybody else's sense of awkwardness regarding your garb. If anything, if one wants to pull it off -- and do so well -- it might be wise to dress "up" from what the usual workplace-wear is.

I am rather fortunate that I work in a setting that does not seem to have any codified "dress code" -- or at least it seems that way sometimes. However, I try to look professional and that carries across to when I'm wearing skirts. If anything, I tend to be a notch or two above "business casual" most of the time. This, I suspect tends to insulate me from wise-cracks and grief that might get dished out if I took a very casual approach.

I also mix it up a bit and wear skirts on some days and trousers on others; this indicates I'm looking for an expansion of style, not an exclusive trading of one for another. It'll also keep down comments of, "Where's the skirt?" if I wear trousers after a couple weeks' work of only wearing skirts.

The moral of this is that depending on your own workplace, it's somewhat likely that you could wear skirts -- especially if you're not in a "customer-facing" role. I don't particularly like calling it "getting away" with it because that implies we're doing something wrong and we're doing it on the sly: we're not, and I don't believe we should paint it like we are.
