Surprised this thread hasn't been locked yet

If we want to convince people that Men in Skirts is a normal clothing alternative, rhapsoziding about the bulge in our skirts is more likely to put people off and see us as a bunch of pervs...

I don't want to be reading about codpieces and stuff, I thought this was about wearing skirts and looking cool. All this wearing tights, slips and stuff isn't for me, I might head over to X-Marks the Scot if this is the level of conversation here... :(

Back in the day I'd wear a kilt, I might even bust a jean-skirt or two like JeffB did (I see he's left)... things are a little too kinky here...

We all gonna look like this in a minute...

I feel sorry for you !!!
I see no reasons for your anger , frustration , or for getting excited !!!
Here , we were told : For the discussion of fashions some might consider to look "not as masculine", while always presenting as a man. This is NOT crossdressing.

If ever , subjects discussed on this forum does not match your criterias ,
here is a suggestion ...
There is other forums treating the subject from different point of views , you may just find one that suits your taste !!!

No hard feelings have to be involved here ...
I have switched forums a few times before ...
Till I found one that had affinities with my perspective on the subject ...

Whilst historical imagery is appropriate in many instances in this forum, we really should remember that this is supposed to be a "family-friendly" place. Is this the sort of conversation you'd likely have around your young children?

Hi all,

I have to say that I feel this subject is one that is appropriate to discuss here and that nothing that has been said so far is in anyway unsuitable for a "family friendly" place. The more children are involved in open discussions about gender differences and tolerance the better. Would you rather that they grew up sniggering at what they do not understand?

As far as the bulge itself is concerned, are we going to deny the existance of our true anatomy and pretend that that we have all been emascuated? When wearing a kilt it is naturally going to less obvious than in a tight skirt. I don't think anyone is suggesting that we such try draw attention to the bulge, but neither should we be ashamed that it exists. What offends people is the intention to do so. So people are offended if you stick your tongue out at them but are not if they see the tongue when you talk or eat. The same goes for the middle finger! It's thought behind the action, not the digit itself.

Therefore i believe that a discussion about how to deal with the bulge is
entirely inoffensive
Roger.

By the way I quite like your photo - great boots and that tight demin skirt looks good.

I still can't see the relevance between being Scottish and skirt wearing. I personally would rather be thought as effeminate for wearing a skirt than Scottish. I expect most Scots would throw their hands up in horror for being thought of as English.

As do I.

Though I interpreted the original question as "should we be concerned about the bulge?" rather than "how do we deal with..." My answer, as given above, is simple; I don't worry about it any more than I would in trousers. So far no one seems to have posted a contrary view.

Have fun,

Ian.

We were discussing this topic in the A&B house the other day - and wondered if this was at least part of the reason for a sporran. Although I think it likely they just serve the same purpose as a pocket - although they are handily placed. :)

Actually yes - some women are embarrassed by their breasts, and consciously dress so as to minimize them. In fact I'd have mine completely removed if I could. They really do get in the way!
And some women I know do hide them when cross-dressing (at least when doing very conscientious cross-dressing).
- of course, it's always possible I'm one of a kind and know some strange women. :)

I actually found the heels on those boots to be a bit kinky - the sort of thing you might expect from some S&M madam...

I reckon you could do some damage with those babies - both to someone else, and to yourself..

well, kilty, evidently you are one of the "you're not a man unless you dress like i do!" types.

as the unofficial a-hole of this motley crew, i hereby invite you to leave if you wish. you probably won't be missed, if this is your attitude.

by the way, you photo does you no justice. you actually look like a man in that picture.

<smile, sweety. nobody is taking you seriously  >

Whilst I do admit his picture looks great. I have to admit too that those boots are a bit on the kinky side.
Also looking at his denim skirt - there does not seem to be any trace of the 'bulge' at all.

Perhaps he would like to share with all how he achieves this look before leaving this goup for 'The gay Gordons'.

You morons! That's not my picture! That's the point I'm trying to make, it's from a TV/TS site. I just think that if too much emphasis is on tights, boots etc, it defeats the object we are trying to acheive as skirt-wearing men. I'm not trying to impose my dressing choices on anyone r1g0r or whatever the hell you call yourself.

I'm not too sure about this 'gay Gordon' thing you lot are referring to. Some gays might have hijacked the kilt, but it's better than the 'sad, old, white, middle-aged confused men in denim skirts' look I see here. I'll follow Jeff out the door...

So who's picture is it? Why post someone else's picture? What TV/Ts site do you frequent?

I may be white and middle aged but I don't feel sad.
What is wrong with denim skirts - hundreds of people (or even thousands) of people wear them every day? They are comfortable and look Ok.

The Gay Gordon's is a dance by the way nothing to do with the modern meaning of gay.

Kilty,

Can you reconcile your stance above to previous postings where, inter alia, you professed admiration for pencil skirts (23 Jan, 0620am), tights (17 Jan, 1232am), and denim skirts? you also seem to like the pencil skirt and black tights look (Feb 02, 0610am). I'm a touch confused. What is your stance? Are you confident enough to state it so that we can have a rational debate? Will you take these fashion choices to X Marks the Scot and repeat them? That might make for an amusing post!

Furthermore, are you aware of the reasons why JeffB is not posting at the moment? Are you aware that he's not posting on other internet sites where he is normally active? Are you trying to use him as evidence for a gathering movement of desertion from Skirtcafé?

I look forward to your responses as part of an ongoing debate which, or course, is what makes places like Skirtcafé so intellectually stimulating.
