Edited to fix my sloppy quoting...

Meant to get back to this earlier. Yep, I'm in the USA and that does influence our perceptions of what typical means around us. Funny thing is that I have never noticed being hot in jeans before reading your post originally. Since then I've been hot twice and both times thought of you. That just means I need to use lighter weight pants.

My 'other half' is effectively forced to don tr*users, working in a large warehouse environment. She'd prefer to wear a culotte, but they're a rarer garment than a bikini in the Arctic, to find these days. The health point has rather come home to haunt us this month, as she's currently undergoing tests to see if she has the big "C" in the 'downstairs department', as we say in polite circles. :(

I have never seen culottes other than a pair my mother has so they are certainly rare here too. I notice they aren't plural over there.

My jeans are crossed for your wife's clean bill of health, Merlin.

Men in skirts and the women who love them...

Once you cross the threshold to "skirted-man friendly female" you still have a leg up on the other women here, you'll be in the unique position to offer advice based on "when I was a skirt wearing man..." :) Either way you are representing the community, WSmac, and representing it well.

Thanks Quiet Mouse :D

Skirtdude, I think it's great you are so comfortable with your own self... or just self-assured?, that you can hangout with anyone you find fun no matter how they may be categorized.
Kudos to you!

Merlin, I had the opportunity to post immediately after your last, but I was at a loss for words.
I believe I am feeling much the same as any other person here probably is in hoping your wife's situation and health turn out for the better.

Thank you for feeling comfortable enough with us here to share that.
I also recognize how difficult it can be for family members, especially you.
So you are in my thoughts as well.

Many thanks for that! I do appreciate your support! She goes into hospital on Monday for an exploratory 'op', so the next week or so ('til she gets the results) will be a little tenuous - for both of us. For once, the crumbling UK NHS has acted promptly - at least our local is a 'clean' hospital, unlike the QMC in Nottingham!

Bringing skirts back into the theme, ironically, the situation has made her much more aware that my health-related problems are being increasingly exacerbated by wearing bifurcated apparel. She's now 'easy' about me being 'out and about' in the garden, but still 'border-line' about 'the great outdoors' (purely bothered about what 'other' folk might say :? ). I've said, next time we go round to her best friend's house, if I'm expected to be out all evening and not in severe pain, I've no alternative but to wear a skirt (it'll be ankle-length denim). She's got reservations, but when she finds her friend won't 'bat an eyelid' (her friend has been my main source of encouragement!), hopefully she'll realise 'it really doesn't matter'. 8) It's strange that a potential crisis can cause folk to 'see the world differently' - priority now being, of course, her health!

My thoughts and wishes go with both of you -- here's hoping the outcome is a positive one!

Many thanks for all your kind wishes! The gynaecologist chappy, who carried out the test 'op' this morning, was able to report back this afternoon - with a totally clean bill of health for "Mrs Merlin"! :D She'll still need a few more days off work, but it makes a pleasant change to have some (really) good news. On top o' that, I received some vouchers (from a pub draw) through the post, for 8 pints of ale, so we'll be able (in a couple of day's time) to go out and celebrate the fact! :P

Thanks again for all the 'positive vibes', chaps (and chapesses!). The power of 'kind thoughts' transcends oceans - we should tell the politicians, eh?

TERRIFIC NEWS Merlin!

While I don't partake in alcohol (very often that is), I'll still raise a glass in celebration of your wife's good fortune.

This forum needs thumbs up smileys. And a skirted smiley come to think of it.
