What did *you* wear "out and about" today?

This is my first post, so I am a little nervous, I went out with my wife today to the local art store to buy a frame, I was wearing a blue knee legth skirt with a petticoat. I do not attempt in anyway to look like a women so it is obvouis to everyone that I am a man in a skirt, anyway it was a lote of fun and the sales lady was really nice.

Well, yesterday driving home I was wearing a knee-length cream coloured linen skirt. Just comfortable for driving and I don't normally wear it out and about but:

A guy rear-ended me on the 14th Street bridge, so we had to stop and stand in the middle of traffic and exchange driver's license numbers and so forth.

He never noticed the skirt - he was too nervous due to having caused the wreck, I assume. But I do wonder what other passing motorists thought: Probably nothing at all: Two guys blocking traffic in rush hour.

Chris M of Silverdale-- What a hoot of a story! Mom always said to wear fresh underwear because you never know when you might be in an accident and end up in the hospital! Glad no one was hurt, and good job! What a great way to show others men are not afraid to place comfort before conformity!

You're welcome here, you're also way ahead of most male skirt wearers in that you not only wear an underskirt or slip, you've gone all the way to a petticoat, which is something most "blokes in a skirt" would not do. I applaud your "fashion freedom" and definitely welcome you to our site as yet another public skirt wearer.

Welcome Bob! Went out to breakfast in a US Navy Sportkilt and blue sandals this morning. Just got back from services wearing my tan Survival UK and brown sandals. Got a "Nice kilt!" as I was leaving.

after I moved to Hollywood, FL ...had huge problems to get my 88 Bronco down there on a trailer ...I went out in a new skirt, slip and t-shirt. Not to forget the flip-flops

How are you doing with the new languages? Like Cuban, Puerto Rican, Colombian, Jamaican, French and Creole??? I lived in Hollywood at 2466 Fillmore Street when the only language there was American/English. That was in the 50's....Lonnnnng time ago. Things DO change.

Took my wife to visit a National Trust property (Clevedon Court), then a garden centre. She wore a dress, I wore a sky blue sarong and a pink polo shirt, plus a small green shoulder bag. There may have been some looks, but no comments. I felt rather sorry for the other guys in their ugly, baggy, drab-coloured shorts

The Wife and I just got back from Sunday dinner "out", her in a sky-blue mini-dress with a seashell print, me in a yellow dress shirt and a burgundy silk skirt. If you've not worn a silk skirt in your life do so before you die; they're positively heavenly!

Yesterday was my computer-preservation/restoration group's monthly "open house" at our facility in Providence (RI/USA); I had on a yellow/green/black floral Hawaiian shirt and my cranberry cotton skirt. Nobody there has seen me in pants since... perhaps before we moved there. Nobody batted so much as an eyelash. Since we're located in the midst of an artists' community, that doesn't really surprise me all that much.

Well, I finally screwed up the nerve to wear one of my 17" minis out to lunch yesterday afternoon and it turned out to be.... a complete non-event. Now I'm put to wondering why I was so nervous about it in the first place.

Today when the weather was 'variable' I had a mid-calf chocolate/white print skirt on. When it clouded over mid afternoon I was very comfortable!

On wednesday it was a blue/white print and on Tuesday a blue/white mix print skirt.

Plus I picked up a few new ones during the week.

All told, a good and comfortable week. Oh, only 2 wolf whistles.

I'm going to Bingo this Sunday wearing my new custom outfit that Judy sewed for me. A shiny cotton batik print of tiger stripes in a combination of yellow, blue, black and red patterns. A straight skirt that's ankle length and a loose pullover shirt with elbow length sleeves and a V neck..The skirt has a back vent for easy walking. I'm impatiently waiting for Sunday so I can see how it's recieved. I think I already know how it will be as the older ladies at Bingo have gotten used to me in skirts and are always looking for me to be wearing something new.

Today was one of the few completely going out days, i.e. I went in public various places without changing into shorts as I usually do. (I am in the beginning stages of going "public"). However this weekend has been without question an excellent exuse to do so, as Friday, Saturday and Sunday have all been above 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Friday and Saturday I was mostly at home, trying to keep out of the sun as much as possible.

Today however I went out, and did so in a knee length tan tiered skirt, light dusty-olive t-shirt and sandels. I first went to church this morning and the only few comments I got were very positive and assuring. I then went home for a couple of hours. Next, I rode my bike (yes, in the skirt but it was only about a 2 miles) and went to meet a couple of friends at a Starbucks for a couple of hours. They have never seen me in a skirt and I only got one usual "why the skirt?" question from one of them, to which I explained I wanted to wear something more open and cooler than what even a pair of shorts can provide. This reasoning made sense to them (they all being women probably helped) and all was quite well. I only got some passing glances from the public, and absolutely no negative stuff.

Riding back home I was passed by a bicyclist who simply waved and said "hello", to which I replied with the same. He probably noticed the skirt, however it obviously wasn't of much concern to him.
