Parrots

Post by Since1982 »

I once knew an old man that crafted a hat with a Parrot crossbar on top so his pet parrot could sit up there while he walked. He only had one, or a few small problems with that, but I guarantee you that no one looked at what he was wearing when that parrot was up there. :shake:

Interesting interaction with co-worker at work with my shoes

Post by frankie_says »

Hi,
This has to do with my shoes but as I was wearing a skirt I thought it worthy and maybe interesting to post here.

Today I have on a long tan/brown skirt with my 4" brown high heel clogs and nylon stockings. There were about 5 of us outside on break in the smoking area at the picnic table.

One of our male co-workers was looking at my clogs and suddenly said hey frankie what size shoe do you wear? I said 10 womens and he responded he wore a 9 1/2 and knew this because his wife and him have the same size feet :)

So then he says let me try one of those on! And I said sure and kicked off my right shoe. He put it on and was kind of unsteady and I said well you really need to have them both on. So I kicked off the other oneand slid it to him and held my nyloned feet off the ground so I didnt get a run in my stockings.

So he puts on the other one and walked around in them for a min (not to bad either). They fit him very well and looked great I told him so.

So not being finished there he proceeds to ask a female co-worker who was wearing soft traditional low clogs if he could try her shoes on. He did but hers were a bit small, I told him they would fit fine if he wore nylons lol.

All in all it was a very fun break time this morning and nice to see another guy confident enough in himself to walk around in my heels for a bit... very nice I thought :) maybe I'll pass on some of my older regular clogs to him.

And who knows maybe he would try on a kilt some day lol :)

Took a short trip this afternoon to the grocery to pick up a box of tea bags. This was a big step for me. Middle of the afternoon, when stores are busy. So are the parking lots. I wore a stretch nylon tennis skirt, navy blue it is. Sat in the car for a few minutes, I did, garnering up the guts to walk across the parking lot to enter the store. Decided and did it. Walked 3/4 of the way through the store before I found the aisle with the tea, then went to check out and back to the car. I was a bit nervous, wondering if any one would say anything. No one did. The tennis skirt has no pleats, and when I stand it comes to somewhere around three (3) inches above my knees. This is about the lenght I wear my shorts, which is on the short side of what most kids wear today here in the states. By the way, my legs are shaved, ostensibly for cycling (2500 miles so far this year!) and just a bit darkened by the tan. My wife has not seen this skirt yet, but I kept it on until she got home, just a few minutes ago. We'll see how that goes when I go upstairs for dinner. Just needed to share.

The more you do it and get seen by your townfolks, the less you'll worry about it. It's a non-event unless you act like it's something you shouldn't be doing. THEN you might get negative comments. As long as you act like its the most natural thing in the world everyone that sees you won't think anything bad about it. AND you'll get lots of positive comments. 'Specially after 6 months or so of steady skirt wearing. Then if you show up anywhere you normally go without a skirt you'll get people asking "where your skirt is"..That's a fun experience, believe me. :)

Hello Matman!
Please let us know how it went with your wife.Has she seen you in other skirts?
My wife is fine with all of my kilts, well she is not too fond of my Practikilt(she thinks it is too short) but is with the other 34kilts,and has a problem with some of my skirts.
I can't go off in my tennis skirts with her. They are really to short, but they sure are nice and comfortable.

The Wife and I are headed out to our weekly class on the ecology of New England in a few minutes; I'm wearing my dark red rayon paisley-print skirt, and she's wearing a dress. I'm a happy boy!

Today...

Temperatures were close to 100 this afternoon. Decided to run down to the Renton, WA Fry's Electronics. Didn't kilt. Threw on a very lightweight black pleated skirt, pair of sheer knee-highs, a pair of running shoes, and a white t-shirt. Added the cargo pockets from my survival, worn on my kilt belt. Was pretty comfortable, even with the 95-100 degree heat. Tomorrow's going to be similar, temp-wise. Maybe warmer. Will wear a similar outfit, but may try to find a white skirt at a thrift store (or maybe at Old Navy or Fashion Bug - who knows) and subsitute it in place of the black skirt. Might even go with one that's about an inch or so above the knees...

Sheer knee-highs are pretty cool, huh? Sure would beat soccer socks, I imagine. I refuse to shave so I'm not so sure of the coolness factor; I like sandals best. Cargo pockets from your Survival's a great idea! Wearing my newer black AK this afternoon. Waiting for Mr. Butler to reply to my inquiry about any other AK colors available in this type of fabric other than green and tan.

Yes, they are. Has to do with the smoothness of the nylon, compared to the roughness of most normal sox. Ya could probably try a pair of trouser socks without dehairing your legs.

It was cold, and rainy at times yesterday, and to be different I wore tr*sers, and many people asked me "where's my skirt?" I've been here in Santa Fe just a week, wearing kilts and skirts most of the time, so it only took a week to get to the point that wearing tr*sers is "out of character".

Today I'm wearing a long khaki skirt.
