This point has been belaboured and lamented by many a poster over time, this author included, but there is no real percentage in belabouring it further; women's styles will evolve based on the whims of designers and the desires of women themselves, and we have no power to influence -- much less compel -- otherwise. Lamenting it just sounds whiny.
So if you wish to wear a skirt or a dress as I do on a daily basis then you would need to do it as a man. Female "wannabees" dressing like women did in the 1950s are little more than clowns seeking attention.

As has been pointed up on this forum a number of times, there are substantial differences between a "bloke in a skirt" and somebody trying to role-play a stereotyped image. The latter character can find many on-line sites that will cater to his desires; the former, however, has a bit of a tough row to hoe because there are very few resources available that can offer hints, tips, and advice. For guys at the moment, kilts, certainly traditional and the up-and-coming "contemporary/casual" versions show much promise and will likely be taken up sooner than outright skirts; however, out-and-out skirts
can work well on guys, and there are a number of exemplars here that demonstrate that.
It's also worth noting that slagging off on the "orthodox crossdresser" is counterproductive. Let's just state the differences and let it be done with.
