Have no fear, Carl. I won't inflict a rent-a-crew of large thirsty Irishmen on you. My suggestion is that I detach myself from my fellow rowers and meet you on neutral 'ground'....e.g. on board the USS Constitution, which is afloat....the oldest fighting ship so to be..,(the 'Victory', for instance, is in dry dock in Portsmouth at floating level).

Anyway, the whole thing is very much up in the air at the moment, as we've first got to assemble a crew of guys willing to travel &c.

The record temperature for Dallas/Ft Worth was 107-F on this day in 2008.
Well today set a NEW record. 109-F officially at DFW airport.
Alliance airport, north-west of DFW about 35 miles had 111-F.
During our peak electricity usage today, the area consumed 68,294 MWH,
and if we hit 70,000 MWH demand then brown-outs will take place.
The temperature is forcasted to be 109-F again tomorrow.
UGH! it's :sunny: and :cussing: HOT!

I remember visiting friends in Phoenix way back in 1967. Their temp. hit 108 defrees F. and I swam in their pool to cool off, but had to wear a hat while exposed to the Sun.....and I had a full head of hair then!

Last week-end on our 52nd parallel we briefly saw 89 degrees in our sheltered garden. That's VERY hot for here!
