oops caught in a skirt
This afternoon, I was out behind my house smoothing over the area where they dug up my septic tank for $600.00 in repairs. I thought I heard a vehicle pull up. I went in through the back door, intending to slip into a pair of jeans I keep just inside in case of surprise visitors. My sister-in-law was standing there. She had brought some things by for my wife. She just said, I like the skirt. and sat down to await my wife getting back from the store. WE started talking about my denim skirt, and I discovered she knew all about my skirt wearing. My wife had told her over ab year ago. Now I have another person that knows. Maybe I 'm winning the un-bifurcated battle one person at a time. Now, the mail delivery lady, my wifes sister and the clerk in a liquor store in another town know I wear skirts.

Gradually they get to know by default.
Only this morning, after reading this post, I opened the front door to a youngish female carer from the agency that helps my elderly mother. I hadn't met her before - there are quite a few of them. I was in my fabulous Royal Stewart tartan kilt, and the last thing folk expect is to be welcomed in that way.
She did a doubletake and simply said:
'Wowwwwwww! I love it!'
It can't get more positive than that.

I knew my sister-in-law knew that I wear kilts. But I didn't know that my wife had told her about the skirts, mostly denim, that are my usual around home wear. My kilts are too expensive for every "around the home" wear, especially when I can buy a nice ladies denim skirt for one tenth of the price. So far,I have only ventured out in public, wearing a skirt instead of a kilt one time. That was on a trip out of town for a couple of nights and it went well.

I remember the very short time, a few weeks only if that, when I had a pair of trousers at the ready if some one came at the door.
Hopeless. I was only doing it for them.
"coming" "looking for the keys" while i put my pants on and shoved the skirt in a drawer or behind a door, of which room I then later had to visit with the guest.
That is not something to do for long. Tell the others or just let them see you when they next come. There is always a first moment, so the sooner the better.
I really like it when I answer the door to mail men / Women, or other strangers at the door, finally not hiding, being myself. It is enjoyable not to have to hide your skirt wearing for others. Not for yourself, but more not to want to confront them with that. And they go on their way, react normal, no problem at all. I don't know what they think, but who knows what people think anyway?

A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.
I certainly won't open the door to strangers while wearing a skirt but people do get to know by other means.
My ex-wife dumped me because I wear skirts. After she left me she told pretty well every female known to both of us (excluding my sister and mum, fortunately) about my habits, presumably with the idea that it would disgust them! It appears to have had the opposite effect. I now have several female friends (some are also family) who expect me to be wearing a skirt when they pop round for a coffee!

Well what a story, your wife leaving because she didn't understand your wearing other clothing than the regular man.jaycee wrote:I certainly won't open the door to strangers while wearing a skirt but people do get to know by other means.

I presume that if you are a constant wearer of skirts, then I would assume that very soon you have a piece of mind to go to the door as you are. After all what do people who knock at other people's front doors expect? You as you are of course.
I would think that nearly no one is shocked, but possibly surprised, unexpecting. But that isn't a bad thing, as you say yourself, you now have friends who understand and accept you as you are.
