Pollies look the same the world over, you couldn't mistake who was who. Behind all the glam ( Chris Huhne that is ) is he okay. as far as any pollie can be  We are just a few days away from a general election here in Australia and heartily sick of all the pork barrelling and easily broken promises from both major parties

Thinking of the Liberal Democrats (whatever/whoever they are supposed to represent!), did anyone see the Politics Show on Sunday, and the unseemly highly public squabble between the two candidates for this month's LibDem Party leader's election? Talk about kiddies in the playground! It look like the Huhne chappy has 'shot his bolt' as far as credence goes, but I suspect the other parties were doing somersaults of delight at such a public display of incompetence!!!!!!!!

What I didn't say was that Chris Huhne really wasn't very comfortable with me even though he'd given a speech about being anti establishment it seems when confronted with somebody who is abti establishment he craps himself

Ziggy, is the dress you are in one in the pattern of the union jack. I can't really see it at all except for what is barely visible under the camo jacket.

How about a pic that shows the whole outfit?

Well, we will just have to see how he goes. He did have a fit of "foot and mouth disease" during the election campaign when he was honest and said to a radio show host re. promises '-of course we won't keep all of them and, once we're in government, we'll change a lot of things that we've said now'. No, he's a worry but, better him than Bob Brown and the Greens running the environment portfolio. :x

I think old Johnny, who looks like he'll be the second sitting P.M. to lose his seat, really lost the election not so much that Kevin Rudd won, though, he did campaign well, debated well and never lost his cool. I have little sympathy for him (little Johnny A.K.A. the Little Dessicated Coconut), he shot his bolt with me nearly 11 ywars ago when he orchestrated the nationwide gun control. He then fawned and grovelled to the Bush administration and put us in a "war" that was founded on lies and half truths. His foreign policy toward our neighbours has been one of bullying and hectoring. His treatment of genuine refugees has been little short of criminal and he also played up and encouraged our natural (unfortunately) tendency toward xenophobia.

I hope the coalition learns from it's humiliation and returns to the middle ground and away from the extreme right that has been steadily creeping in, especially in New South Wales state politics where right wing thugs have stacked party branches and bullied old stawarts.

As a postscript, I had no quarrel with "workchoices" (which the pundits say killed The Coalitions re-election) and I give full credit for the way they handled the economy, however, I believe they carved the heart out of a good country by making virtues out of greed, selfishness, paranoia and xenophobia. Before his accession to power, I always voted coalition and was a member of the old Country Party. Thankfully, we had a good independent M.P. who was returned with no serious opposition.

Do you think he'll get the (LibDem) vote as leader, after his/their recent, heavily publicised, televised debacles? The bloke who's being doing the job for the past month or two (whose name completely escapes me, sorry!) comes over as by far the best potential leader that party has had since that chappy from the west country (ex military, you'll know the one I mean!), some years ago. Paddy Ashdown, if I remember right(?)

I like some of what Hulne says especially about spreading direct democracy but his recent activities haven't done him any favors he's come off sounding a bully

As an update to our election in our area. We supported the local independent M.P. and he had a swing of 7% to him with a primary vote of 70%, Nationals a bit under 20%, Labor 9%. Tony Windsor is the most popular M.P.in Australia   :D

Well I didn't meet Mr Huhne again, nor did I meet Mr Clegg, nor did I get to ask a question.

But when I got there I felt a bit too undressed there were two 6ft something drag queens promoting the Lib Dems LGBT group I did get a photo but haven't be arseed yet to upload.
