Vacation skirted

Hi gang

I've just spent a week on vacation in Mallorca (Spanish island in the Med). I went on my own as the wee wifey was busy with all sorts of stuff.

I wore pants to fly to the resort but thereafter it was skirts all the way. I didn't take any kilts as they are too warm in summer but had a mid color macabi, several sarongs and a knee length denim that I've just bought.

I walked a lot and also used the local busses.

Reactions:
The sarongs attracted least attention even tho the most colorful. It seems as tho people are OK with sarongs in a holiday setting. The denim attracted a few glances and 'double takes', but only one comment - a party of British pre teens. A little girl piped up "That man is wearing a skirt". No - one took any notice of her especially the 3 female teachers all wearing pants ( and generally drab clothing). I wore the macabi one day while out walking together with blue check shirt, white ankle socks and brown slip ons and a sun hat. Arriving at one beach a women was heard to say to her husband "Is that a man or a woman?". No guessing what she was wearing! Once I was into my swim thong she had nae doubt haha.

And that ma bonnie lads was it. I had a splendid skirted week and was totally at ease with myself and soooo comfortable. I just couldn't 'get' the numerous women wearing jeans and long pants in temperatures in the upper 80s

Well, some people don't care if they're uncomfortable, as long as they look "in." In some parts of India and Polynesia, men who'd traditionally be wearing sarong-type garments start wearing jeans just to be "hip", even when the temperatures are insanely high. And no, this isn't for the type of work that jeans were designed for (where they served as valuable leg protection). It's just to be "trendy." Makes me hope for those people, and the girls in jeans you met, that wearing a vise on your head doesn't become "fashionable." *laughs*
