Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
I have a question that a Utilikilt owner here might be able to answer; with the modesty snap fastened is it practical to cycle in a Utilikilt or am I likely to cause little old ladies to run screaming from the road side as I go past?
Has anyone tried cycling in a kilt and if so how successful was it?
Have fun,
Ian.

I tried cycling in a kilt some years ago and it went everywhere. I might have been better off being naked from the waist down. I normally cycle skirted whithout too many knicker exposure problems - it depends on what type of skirt you are wearing. You can either sit on the skirt or it with your skirt over the saddle again it depends on the fullness and length of the skirt.

Yup, that was the problem I found with the lightweight polyester kilt I was wearing on Saturday when I decided to nip down the hill into town to pick up a few odds and ends. I usually get up to about 30mph down the hill, on Saturday I only managed about 23mph. Luckily there were very few people around to witness the flapping material and lack of modesty... (It was lovely and cool though )
I wondered whether the Utilikilt modesty snap might help to keep things under control. Sometimes I like to wear a kilt instead of a skirt.

Ian.

I wear nothing but skirts/kilts of one sort or another, and ride a bicycle daily. However - its a European commuter bike with a step through frame made by Biria.
Yes, I purposely purchased this type of bike for its skirt friendliness...
There's an old guy sometimes cycles around the university area of Edinburgh wearing a tartan kilt. Admittedly he doesn't exactly cycle very fast but he seems to be able to keep his modesty. If he can do it, I'd have thought a Utilikilt with a modesty snap would have been easier.
A couple of the UK employees cycle to work sometimes while wearing their UK's... One usually wears shorts until he gets to the shop, then changes to a UK, tho...
