Women stuck wearing "jeans"

Post by Brandy »

[Editied by Bob: The following is a quote from another message board]

[Brandy] (Well I was tired and when I came back and looked at this post boy was I surprised. What I meant to add but never did was to say: " See (young) women have can back themselves into a corner also and can have just as much trouble switching into skirts as a male. Which can be a real surprise considering how they have an automatic acceptance built in 'cause of gender. This is at least the second time I have come across this. The first time was a lady at work. She wore jeans or blue trousers daily. She made a comment to me one day after I had woren a UK to work. After several long talks she wore a skirt and took as many comments over wearing a skirt as I did. The difference was for her it ended, for me the comments never did.)
can anyone give me advice? I want to be more feminine in my appearance and persona but don't know where to begin. Also - big problem - i'm at college. I'd really love to wear pencil skirts and heels but I'm afraid of standing out too much. I'm just so bored of jeans and drabness and want to start feeling like a girl.

That's neatly sums up what it must be to 'feel like a girl' in the 21st Century! "Jeans and drabness" - says it all! :eh:

I thought it was cool to stand out while at college...what happened to challenging societal norms? It should be a time to experiment and try new things. Conformity's for high school IMO.
