Out tomorrow night in a skirt - as usual.

Post by howard h »

Got an empty diary tomorrow night (Sat 25th) so I am going round Manchester's(UK) studenty rock-pubs (Oxford Roadish) on a bit of a pub-crawl. Hope to catch a couple of gigs too. Black leather pleated skirt, black fishnets and boots. If anyone from Mcr/s around, have a chat if you see me!

Excellent choice! My wife's best friend would totally approve - let's hope she can (finally!) persuade my beloved that that's right for me, too!

Or am I too old to be 'trendy'?

Yes - you certainly outran me on the hockey pitch on Saturday!

What you also neglected to tell them, Howard, was that you had black tights on when playing. Nobody said a word - I guess that they are used to it. After all, it is practical when it's cold.

I'm nursing what feels like a fractured rib at the moment after the game. Difficulty in breathing, and a bit of pain. Ho hum. Ah well.

While not as adventurous as you, I did a wine tasting last night in Manchester, wearing a grey kilt, grey jumper, grey socks and flesh tights on underneath. I drank too much, though!

Hey, Ray, sorry to hear about your ribs - looked an innocuous knock (but then again that's what Andy's broken collarbone looked like) at first but there you go. Hope you are on the mend - how long out??
Meanwhile, great night Sat, no mentions except for one girl complimenting my legs - which is a first. Must have been blind drunk, poor girl.

Howard,

Out for 2/3 weeks. Basically, that's me for 2006. Back raring to go (playing for both teams) in 2007, all being well.

Thinking of Kilts, is it not St. Andrew's Night (err!) tonight? ~party~ Get yer Kilts on, folks! Me? Yea, out for the evening (well, and all afternoon, too!) 'playin' wi' ma pleats!' As for any 'question' from the ladies (very rare this, in, gulp, England!), easy answer, "You can touch, but you mustn't look!" :naughty:

Eh? Last night was the 30th! Well, time to put the Kilt away for a week or too, it's still far too warm! All those pleats! Am I the only one who wonders where to put all those pleats when I get in the car? at least with a (conventional) skirt, you just jump in the car, strap on the seatbelt, start up and away - no fussing about careful sitting, arranging pleats and straightening aprons, and as for what the h*ll you do with the sporran! :shake: But seriously, do other folk find 'trad' Kilts a little 'awkward' at times? It's not that I don't appreciate this 'English' re-invention of trad 'highland' wear, but I can just as easily understand why so few Scots wear 'em, in this day and age! :duck: Perhaps I'm just maudlin'. Not a drop of Malt left in the house! Just the wee cache of Tennants in the cellar! See you folks later............... hick!

Well it's the night of the 30th here right now, but I did manage to find a dram o' Glenlivet last night (the 30th where you are) kilted in a Wallace Sportkilt, black hose, green flashes and sporran. There's a half-inch of ice covering everything outside at this time, and so I'm partaking in a dram of Lagavulin 12-year, wearing only a Red Stewart Stillwater, as I watch the lights flicker and hear the ol' UPS beep at me...

Merry St Andrew's day, binx!

I was in my trad kilt last night - at a black tie do in Manchester. There were about 20 kilties at the dinner.

All good comfortable fun, apart from my sore head this morning....

Sounds like you're in the right place at the right time! Cheers!

(I have to get me one of them newfangled UPS thingies. The power company delivered a 3-second cut to us the other night and it took me better than a half-hour to get all the computers back on-line....)
