Exposure of private parts
I’ve heard it mentioned here a number of times how the exposure of private parts is very upsetting to some. But, isn’t fashion freedom partly about how and what we cover with what? What if I wore boots and a T-shirt? Wouldn’t that be considered my sense of male identity? Who is drawing the line and the argument of decency is relative and subjective, isn't it?

There is no question in the US about it. If your private parts are exposed, it's indecent. Thats the law. I'm not sure what you're getting at. If you wore boots and a t-shirt with nothing else I'm sure you'd get arrested...
Please recapitulate if I'm misunderstanding.

Thank you Lar...
...that was exactly the point I was trying to make to Stu, who labelled as perverts a group of youngsters who decided to shed their clothes. You can't judge a book by the cover and should not judge a person by their clothing.
We want freedom to dress as we chose, so what gives us the right to limit the choice available to others? As has been said, "sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander".
Have fun,
Ian.

Do not argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Gooses and Ganders
Ian, how do you know what Geese think? For all we know, Ganders might not LIKE sauce and might be extremely upset at the entire human race for "assuming" either sex of Geese likes sauce. By the way, what kind of sauce is it that Geese are supposed to like? Marinara Sauce? Spaghetti Sauce? The sauce left over when the Haggis is eaten?Milfmog wrote: "sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander".
Realistically tho, that particular saying smacks heavily of the Lemming mentality. Inferring that all Geese think exactly alike is sort of like humans that are stuck in the "suit rut" think.

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

Exposure of private parts
Hi,
Why would anyone want to expose their private parts, and more to the point, who would ever want to see them.

Just because a person doesn’t wear any clothes, doesn’t make them a pervert. In the seventies I use to go to the clothes optional beach with my kids. There were a lot of great people there including nurses, and ex-cop, a construction worker and families. There was also a guy named Pedro who lived there all summer long. All of us would dig up clay for the kids and they would make things out of it. Then during the week Pedro would put the clay things the kids would make up on the cement wall to dry in the sun. The next weekend the kids could take them home. In my case they would make things for mom and take them home to her. She wouldn’t go with us. When there are no clothes you get to understand people for who they really are without identifiers like the types of clothes they wear. With that experience a person really begin realizes how much we as human beings identify and judge people by their clothes. I didn’t know Nancy was a nurse or that John was a cop until long after we had met many times. And after making my judgments about Pedro being homeless I found out though someone else there that Pedro was loaded and had a beautiful home. He just liked living at the beach in the summer. By the way, we got rid of people real quick who just like to come down to gawk. The women loved coming down to that beach because they didn’t have to worry about being bothered by every guy trying to hit on them. (Pick them up) So we made sure those people left ASAP! What got me thinking about this thread is I was thinking about Nancy coming down one day with an artificial grass skirt on and hamming it up. That's all she wore. That would be a fashion choice in some countries at some time.

Exposure of private parts
Hi,
If you want to gawk at mens private parts, thats up to you entirely. I, and probably most men would not be interested. I would rather see a woman dressed, it leaves something to the imagination. As for equality in nudity, any woman would beat a man hands down for looks, so no contest there.

If you visit a clothes-optional beach (etc) then, so long as it's properly signposted, you know what to expect. I recognise no right to behave in a way that causes actual offence and distress to people using other kinds of public places.
Of course clothing options can go beyond the sartorial choices that we demand and into the realm of being offensive. If I walked doem the street of my town wearing a tee-shirt bearing the expression "F*** Off!", I could reasonably expect to be challenged and told to remove it - or even arrested. Similarly, if I wore a garment that clearly and graphically depicted a sex act, I would be in trouble.
Men wearing skirts may cause surprise, they may even startle people, but I have never known anyone be actually offended by it. Nobody has ever called the police upon seeing me in a denim skirt - I have even been inside a police station wearing one! I have collected my child from her primary school wearing several different types of skirt and had conversations with parents, teachers and so on. No problem. Could I have done these things naked? I think not.
What we do is already entirely legal. We are simply wanting to extend the range of garments we, as men, can wear without attracting discrimination. If a substantial proportion of the population told me that they found my skirt-wearing to be actually offensive, and they didn't want their children exposed to such a sight, then I would respect that and confine it to places where it would cause no such offence. Nudism does have the capacity to cause real offence and angst, and so its practitioners should respect the prevailing attitudes towards nudity and confine their activities to where they belong - in the segregated areas set aside for them.

There are women who get off on exposing themselves. I was working on a computer the other day and I was on the floor. One of the nurses came into the room with a short skirt on and sat down right in front of me with her legs somewhat apart and she wasn’t wearing any underwear. This has happened to me before on other jobs. Why do they do it? You would have to ask them. I know some get a rise out of it and some others are trying to get you interested.Gregg1100 wrote:Hi,

Where did I say I wanted to look at a man’s private parts? What about the women who want to see them and what about other men who want to see them?

In your last quote you're talking about two different things. One is you're talking about looks and the other you're talking about equality referencing looking the same. I'm talking about the right for males or females to have the same right to nudity NOT that they look the same or one looks better then the other...that's in the eye of the beholder.[color]As for equality in nudity, any woman would beat a man hands down for looks, so no contest there.
