TITLE, because we're required to to post

Post by Rogon »

I was in a Super Wal today for a variety of things. They had one of the X-Raiders (as in Oakland (American football for those not in the USA)). I think the sign said something about 2 Super Bowl rings. Haven't a clue why he was there. After walking passed a couple of times (I was trying to avoid the whole thing. Some of the Impressed ones where lining up to shake his hand.) He, the football player, called me over. "Hey'" he said, "What's with the leggings?" I wear gators (knee high leggings designed for deep powder (snow), they work great for the weeds, rocks, and water I'm constantly engaged with.) So, I walked over and provided some information, including why I wear them, living on a ranch and all.

Funny thing, he didn't say a thing about the wrap-around skirt I was wearing.

:cheer:

Similar thing happened to me today. A couple of people complemented me, agreeing with the slogan on my tshirt "So many books... So little time", and not saying anything about my calf-length khaki skirt.

What's a Super Wal?

gshubert: When I was in Vegas last month almost the same thing happened to me. Lots of compliments and at least 20 people that were starting to compliment me on my mid calf trousers before I pointed out to them that it wasn't trousers but a skirt, and then after an "Oh" I got a lot of "What a good idea in this heat" comments. :)

One answer is that a "Super Wal" is a 1926-vintage four-engine German flying boat ("wal" meaning "whale") of Dornier design. But, as there probably aren't too many of those left on the planet, my guess is that Rogon was at a "Super Wal-mart" instead. :) (We need a "duck-and-cover" smiley here sometimes...)

That's because when one stops and actually thinks about it, skirts are a good idea in hot weather!

Super-walmart...you know the ones that have a food store too? I've been staying out of them now since all of the offenses they've been commiting. And there's the little incident where they followed me around in my short denim skirt. There's always kmart, target...etc. Haven't had that happen at those places.

Super Wal-Mart, as in Super Mal-Wart... :-) Last time I visited one, was in 2001. Haven't been back.

Isn't it fun? You can't predict what people will notice. It goes to show what is on our minds won't be the same thing others comment on. Works for both fears and when you want something noticed. Took me about eight guesses and still couldn't spot the change last time Quiet Man clipped his ogre toes for me. :crazy2:
