I was at the supermarket today ...

Post by Brandy »

... when I heard "well I guess black and white is ok, but I liked last weeks khaki better". I have been going to this same market weekly for about 12 years, the last 4 years only in a kilt or skirt. There are employees who never seen me in trousers.

It was one of the stock guy's we had a nice long conversation. It seems I've been the topic of considerable conversation. These tell's me how the younger guys were questioning my what...ever his comment was "well do you have the 'balls' to wear a kilt?", "OH NO they say", well that was it.

It turns out that his cousin is gay and he has had to learn his own prejudice and in the process was able to identify that even wearing a kilt I’m still a straight male.

Then at the checkout the lady says, I like your outfit today. Well that caught me by surprise, twice in the same day, same store, made me feel good.

It was just a black UK mocker, white silk shirt, black hat with ventilation mesh, and sandals.

Just goes to show, wear with confidence, check the mirror and head out the door.

Check the mirror

That's one major difference to the average guy. Wearing a skirt we check the mirror to see how we look while all those years of trouser wearing we just pulled them on and left walking right by the mirror with hardly ever a glance. I think that's a GOOD thing. :)
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

I never check the mirror when I've put trousers on - I can't bear to see the unhappy guy stood in front of me. Or that could be because I'm going to work :(

Roll on retirement :)
