On my skirted way!

Well, at 8:20 pm est today I board a plane at Miami Airport for a five and a half hour flight to Las Vegas. I have only one pair of knee length shorts for an emergency if an official of anything tells me to change out of a skirt because he/she doesn't like it. I doubt that will happen but since I have 10 skirts and 10 new shirts with me and only one pair of shorts and a pair of swim trunks I'll at least be safe if I run into a badged person that is feeling and using their badged power to have their own way.

I plan to play poker in the World Series Of Poker in 3 events. On the 12th I am entered in the Seniors Texas Holdem event, on the 22nd I will be entered in the Razz event, and on the 24th I will enter the 7 card stud hi/lo event. My total buyin investment for the 3 tournaments will be $3,500.00. I hope to win some back but since this is the first vacation I've had in 20 years, and the first time I've ever been to Las Vegas I don't really care if I win or not. The experience will be well worth the expense. I expect to come back with lots of celebrity autographs and pictures of myself skirted and standing in front of various world famous hotels and sights in Vegas. Wearing my rings and my watch for the first time in at least 10 years makes me feel more "dressed up" too Maybe I'll get real lucky and win a WSOP Bracelet to go with them. I expect to be filmed by ESPN just because I'll probably be the only male entrant in any of the tournaments wearing a skirt. I don't know if ESPN will be covering the Seniors or Razz tournaments, but they always film the 7 card stud hi/lo tournament so I'll probably be filmed in at least that. I'd dearly love to get at a table with Phil Hellmuth and see if I can bother that obnoxious 40 year old baby. LOL..Of course I'd do it much more quietly than he does.

If I get lucky and get in the payout line at any of the tournaments I enter, I'll stay longer and enter more of them. Maybe even the Main Event which the buyin for is $10,000.00. I'd HAVE to win enough to do that though, I can't afford to enter that one out of my own pocket. They expect over 10,000 players to enter that one this year. Last year there were 7,262 entrants in the "Big Dance" as they call the main event. The winner last year, Australia's Joe Hachem walked away with 7.2 Million dollars first prize money. Anyway, if any of our members live in Vegas, I'll be staying at the Rio Hotel and Casino Under my name John (Skip) Fraser. Wish me luck, this will probably be my last post for at least 2 weeks. I don't own a laptop, I may buy one in Vegas, but haven't decided yet to do that. If I do buy one, I'll sign in on it from there and post my progress at the cafe. :ninjajig: :whiteflag

Boooo Hoooo Hoooo, I got busted out of the Seniors Event in 401st place of 1,091 players. I lasted 5 and a half hours losing all my chips in one hand holding pocket AA against pocket KK. The other guy had more chips than me and flopped a K beating my AA and busting me out of the tournament. I played wearing my batik tiger striped shirt and a black straight skirt. I couldn't get a picture of me at the table because my camera has an automatic flash and they don't allow flash cameras or cell phones inside the tournament areas. It's a lot more expensive there than I expected and they don't accept credit cards to enter tournaments with, only cash or chips. I spent all the extra cash I had to enter the Senior Tournament and couldn't enter any more tournaments so I came home earlier than I expected to. I did play in several ring games and won some money, not enough to enter another tournament tho..boo hoo...NEXT time I go, I'll wire enough money ahead to play as many tournaments as I please. I didn't know you could do that before I went this time. Live and learn. With diminishing funds I couldn't really stay any longer and came home having only been there less than a week. Pictures I did take to follow in a later post. They're still in the camera and haven't been transferred into my computer yet. More to come as soon as I can compose myself and get everything straight in my mind.

Well, welcome home. I guess we'll all have to look elsewhere for somebody to finance the clothing revolution.

Actually, I wasn't the only skirted male there. I saw and spoke to and gave this site to at least 5 other men in various types of skirts, and saw more than 10 other men in skirts/sarongs type garments in the games and in the Rio Hotel that I stayed at and that the WSOP is being held at.

Also, there is a "Kilted Kitchen Tavern" in the Rio Hotel and it's listed in all their papers on their services and stores etc. in the hotel. All the service staff there wear kilts, the waiters, barmen, cashier etc. A very Unbifurcated place. I was the only one of the guests when I was there wearing an actual skirt but a couple of guests were "in the moment and wearing kilts" The Restaurant advertises if a man comes in a kilt, he and his guests are treated to a free dinner. The hotel also has a clothing store that has kilts for men as well as all the usual menswear for sale.

Being skirted publically at the Rio and the WSOP was definitely a "non-event". No negative remarks at all from anyone. Only one questioning remark was made about my skirt and that was by a woman that looked to be well into her 80's. Her remark was one we who go public skirted do hear now and again. "What's worn under that skirt?" To which I replied, "Not a thing, it's all working perfectly" she wandered away looking non-plussed and confused. I had at least 15 positive comments while there and all were from women, (all beautiful ones too). From "Now THAT'S a good idea for a man" to "My boyfriend/husband wears skirts too, he says they are very comfortable, do you find that to be true?" To which of course I answer, absolutely, far better and more comfortable than trousers. Lots of trousered men noticed my skirt, none said anything but most looked at me in it in a very deep thoughtful way. Like maybe they were thinking, "That looks comfortable and not feminine at all"..I didn't have to defend my skirt-wearing to anyone as no one said anything negative at all. overall a very encouraging experience.

Went out to breakfast in a US Navy Sportkilt and blue sandals this morning. Just got back from services wearing my tan Survival UK and brown sandals. Got a "Nice kilt!" as I was leaving. Definitely going kilted to the Rio for dinner next time I'm there!

The eventual winner of the Seniors event was a New Mexico woman named Clare Miller. She won $247,814.00 for a $1,000.00 investment. Not bad. Not bad at all. She didn't even come to Vegas to play in any events but just to watch them while she and her husband celebrated their 41st wedding anniversity. What a way to celebrate! :ninjajig: :cheer:

I looked up the restaurant and found a "Tilted Kilt" at the Rio. No mention is made of the free food offer which makes me realize the mark-up on kilts there is a lot greater than their food profit. No wonder they are happy to sell a kilt from their store since people would not know in advance to wear one for the free meal. Sounds like an ideal location for a Cafe meet, I'm sure we could muster up a few men in kilts. :p

Reading a report like this is great, Skip. There are a lot of invisible guys out there who skirt at home. When a visible one like you comes along it gives the others, including their admirers, hope.

I got a free meal there without a kilt, just my straight blue skirt was good enough for the management. I suppose the fact I was staying at the Rio didn't hurt either.
