Brogue Shoes

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

Brogue Shoes

Post by Coder »

Got a dilemma. Had a good discount code from Celtic & Co and ordered a pair of shoes. Need to either return these or keep them. I only have a few days left before I can no longer do a return. I like how they look with longer skirts (mid to maxi length) - but I don't know if they are something I would wear very frequently. My tried and true black and brown boots are still going strong, but I try to rotate them to lessen the wear on them.

Thoughts? Anyone else pair this style shoe with skirts?

I would suggest keeping them and wearing with the skirts. The boots often strike me as being too 'heavy' with a skirt.

I'm really leaning towards keeping them - I've not been happy pairing boots with longer skirts, and these will be a good option. I do think my boots work OK with upper calf-length and higher, though.

A bit anxious about "blue suede shoes" but maybe no one will say a thing?

Just warn people not to step on them. I have a pair of blue suede shoes somewhere, and once had a pair of green suede shoes which went very well with a green-toned miniskirt. (Unfortunately they fell apart, but I now have olive green trainers as an option instead.)
