Otole dance
as a dancer I found this african war dance kinda ironic, given how african americans tend to be rather uptight about men wearing skirts from what I can tell.

I don't see any irony. African traditions have little ro do with today's African Americans for sure, but people who are only aware of the headlines and main stream media presentations of African Americans miss a lot about a very diverse culture that is no more monolithic than any other racial or ethnic group in the USA.
