Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

When asked 'Why the Kilt?'
I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)
I came on this post only just now and it illustrates a lot of my current DIY activities, using up tons of old pallets supplied FOC by our opposite neighbour who runs a landscaping business.
Tearing pallets apart is strenuous work, however and my arthritic wrists protest painfully, alas.

Pallet recycled products aren't pretty, but this garden gate comes close.
Nice!
I broke apart a ton of pallets, was going to use them for interior paneling. After making a big pile, and investing in a pallet prybar... ended up going a different route. I've since made an American flag from pallet planks, but still have the big pile. I still like the idea of them, but I do worry a bit about what bugs may inhabit them, especially pallets that have been sitting outside for some time.
