General discussion of skirt and kilt-based fashion for men, and stuff that goes with skirts and kilts.

Bristol transgender woman jailed for rape

Post by Barleymower »

I like to post up good news and progress for MIS but this conviction of a trans woman is just what the anti trans lobby is looking for. It is also relevant given the recent discussions on the forum.

The man who did this should recieve the maximum punishment and the trans community should make it clear that this crime has nothing to do with trans woman and men.

I also don't want the innocent MIS to be tarred with the same brush.

What didn't become clear was what the current genital state of the accused, because that would have a bearing on the most appropriate accommodation. Certainly the person is of external female appearance.

He couldn't do what did without it. In other photos he still very much a guy. Wether he's transitioned or not is not relevant. It's hard enough to gain any sort of acceptance. Carefully building brick by brick gaining confidence. People slowly learning its ok and we are normal men. Then men like this drive a juggernaut through everything MIS have achieved.

Well, the photographs of the individual clearly showed a male countenance (even with the mask), and since the charges specified "penetration" his parts are still intact and functional.

Nope. This should not impact MIS at all. This will play into all the hype about trans-* folks. I'd like to think that MIS know how to behave in a society -- and certainly raping children does not go over well in society.

It's just one more reason we really should distance ourselves from the trans-* sector.

Again, I have no gripe with those who are legitimately trans-* -- it's the fakers that bother me, and those who would game the system.

It may be possible to distance yourself from the trans community’s, however it will impossible to distance yourself from the gender nonconforming community because by definition, we are gender nonconforming because we wear skirts and skirts are a feminine garment.

However this man identifies he is a monster and is where such people belong, not for long enough probably. MIS have forever worked to distance ourselves from such behaviour and we must continue to by showing common sense and decency, in our dress and general conduct. Just like gay men a generation ago, and ethnic groups forever have.

I respectfully disagree about distancing ourselves from trans people, except making clear we have no desire to BE women when we just want to push boundaries as men. I know many trans people, pre op and post op, I wouldn't contemplate them behaving in such a vile manner and I don't want them tarred with that brush as well. The fact is we only hear of these characters, partly as the more benign type just aren't newsworthy. Those quietly living with families, working, contributing to society don't want the limelight just now.
