Re: Good reasoning to wear skirts
His point about working on roofs was particularly relevant to me, as I have just finished re-battening the roofing felt on two of my sheds. I wore a medium-length denim skirt and it was perfectly safe and comfortable to work in - what's more, it attracted no comments whatsoever from neighbours or passers-by.melsav wrote:http://davids11548.hubpages.com/hub/Mis ... nine-atire

The only reason I need to wear a kilt or skirt is - I like too.

Re: Good reasoning to wear skirts
Some inaccuracy about the Bible in the article. He wrote:
There is no record of Jesus saying anything of the kind. The apocryphal "Gospel of Thomas" has Jesus sayingJesus said that he came to fulfill the old law not to destroy it. But at the same time he gave us other laws to follow. One was that to be modest in the eyes of the Father, one " Must be covered from Neck to Knee".
That probably refers to the standard naked baptism, but was written later than the canonical gospels."When you strip naked without being ashamed, and take your garments and put them under your feet like little children and tread upon them, then [you] will see the Son of the Living One, and you will not be afraid."

Re: Good reasoning to wear skirts
In the past few months I have had a bad episode which resulted in being trousered for some time.
A well intentioned comment from a colleague was that I looked good either way.
I just explained that it was not my preferred mode.
I will never forget that she went out of her way to say how glad she was to see me back to "normal".
For me, it's not reasoning, it is normal to be in a skirt.
It just took someone else to point it out.
Steve.

That's stellar that someone else noticed and spoke up.STEVIE wrote:In the past few months I have had a bad episode which resulted in being trousered for some time.

Face it, it does take quite a bit of conviction and guts to buck the societal norm of trousers-only for guys, and sometimes we're just not up to it. That can happen for a myriad of reasons, but the sensitive types around us do notice, and it's nice when they do because that tends to restore confidence. I know that Sapphire notices -- and comments -- when I've been "in drab" for more than a couple of days' time. But, sometimes it just feels best to blend into the woodwork.
To have the above noticed by colleagues is remarkable -- and should be rather touching. "Back to normal." Can it really get much better than that? Contemplate, just for a moment, the thoughts and feelings that went into that comment. It almost restores one's faith in the power and compassion that humanity is capable of.
This is the sort of thing that doubting significant-others and spouses should read and take to heart. It's not easy being an army of one; that we have the courage and determination speaks loudly. This should be celebrated.

Yes, a good hub page, and a few good comments at the end. But it says...

When I heard about skirting, I jumped in with both feet!

Even if it was just for cleanliness. I would hate to walk along with an accidental, visible skid mark on the back of my skirt. Reminded of that Wallmartian woman bending over wearing the denim shorts with that brown spot in just the wrong place.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

Re: Good reasoning to wear skirts
Exactly! Unless your only reason for wearing a skirt is projecting a certain look, it completely negates the superb comfort and ventilation to go wearing underwear underneath. As for what other people think, why should it matter to them what you are or aren't wearing underneath, just to long as you aren't lifting your skirt to show them?skirtingtheissue wrote:it says...???
