Golden memories of an amazing Olympics

Post by Ray »

It's just about all over for another four years, but what great memories, and what a great performance by the home team. Third in the medals table, performing well above expectations. There were even some kilt wearers amongst the gold medal winners!

Best memory for me was either Hoy getting his 6th gold, or super Saturday evening with Mo Farah aka FlyMo winning his 10000m gold.

Any other memories out there?

There was a quip made about most of the gold medals being won by people who did their sport sitting down...e.g. cyclists & rowers (My lifetime sport). All great performances and nothing much to do with sitting down!

Not that I'm into boxing much, least of all ladies' participation, but 'our' Katie Taylor brightened the day for a lot of Irish people.
