Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
I went to our local cloth shop yesterday looking for some dark blue poly cotton material to make another wrap around shirt. They did have some in stock so I asked for a couple of metres, knowing that this would have be more than I really needed. However the female assistant who must have been in her late fifties, found that there was an odd length of about 1.5m on the bale, and asked if that would be enough. I thought about if for moment and then picked it up and wrapped it around my waist to check. The assistants face at that point was a bit of a picture. There was enough material there and I saved myself a few £'s.
I would add that 1.5m does allow for a generous overlap on me !
It's always fun when a protected older person sees his/her first MUG on a man. Entreats comments like .. "Sir, wouldn't you like to bring your wife down to see if it fits her?" and you respond with, "Thank you Ma'am, but it's for me!" If you look back when you leave with the material, she usually has a "Did I step on the dog's tail? look on her face."
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.
