Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
Two months ago I was worried that this would be a cool, rainy and gloomy summer.
Well, it's anything but as we have had quite a few 90F days this last month. No big records set yet. But there is still a lot of summer to come.
We dodged a bullet yesterday. The predicted high of 99F never happened. It was cloudy most of the morning and the temps stayed in the upper 70s to low 80s. Quite a nice day. Drove with the windows open all day.
But today is a scourcher already. Low 90s at my house.
Thank Bog for central air.
Anyone know who Bog is?
I do, It's a lot of moorland mainly found in the central plains of Ireland. I walk my dogs on our local bog every day. It forms what we call here a 'frost pocket', in that if it's cold it'll certainly be freezing in the boglands, and if it's hot (as it is now) we'll get the highest recorded temperatures in the country on the bog.
Today we're expecting temps. in the low 80s, which is great for Ireland. We're off with a picnic lunch rowing our traditional Thames Double Skiff on the local Grand Canal, which due to our low population will be pretty uncrowded and idyllic in this lovely gentle heat of Summer. The canal is well supplied with old stone crossing bridges, often with a nice pub nearby and a landing stage.....
