Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
This obsession is getting out of control.
As I write this I have 6 different Skirts in 3 orders riding around on UPS Trucks someplace in America.
So that 6 along with the dozen or so I already have makes it about a 50/50 split of Pants and Skirts in my wardrobe.
I'm thinking some of these new skirts may of gone over the line when it comes to that are of too Fem for a man to pull off. But since all the fancy ones were on sale, they did not set me back that much.

I have always been a bit spare in my approach to wardrobe and so have historically tended to keep small numbers of articles. However, my somewhat-recent foray into skirts has yielded a divide of about five or six to one as far as skirts-to-trousers is concerned. I don't really view this as anything to worry about.

This comes down more to how you integrate the skirts into your wardrobe and how well you match them up with otherwise masculine bits. It's all a matter of balance, and it's a balance that this writer believe can be achieved for many, if not most, looks.

Depends what you want to spend your money on, of course. With a wardrobe full of skirts of the unmistakeably feminine perswasion you have to ask yourself 'Would I want to be seen in public wearing these?' or are they just for your own private enjoyment at home?
There's nothing like a hefty bill from an unexpected source to channel your expenditure elsewhere.
I'm hardly in a position to stop you from buying another skirt seeing as I just bought two yesterday.
My skirt maker from Seattle was back in town and brought two skirts I had asked him to make. One of them is a candidate for the How short would you wear thread that was proposed.

I have bought plenty of skirts online, returned many and sent others off to the Goodwill. It's hard to find something that resonates with me. I have been infected with the guy thing that says wear the same, dull sort of thing day in and day out. At the same time, there is part of me that wants more color and variety.
I did wear my Cunningham long kilt to chorus practice last night, it is very red and black, very colorful, especially for me!

Have we seen a picture of this yet? How long is long? And how do you find it to wear in the real world? Your audience needs to know...
Have fun,

How about 150 skirts & two dozen dresses? Add to that maybe three pairs of pants that I haven't donated to Goodwill Industries or the Salvation Army. Since pants have become a female garment why would any man want to dress just like a woman who wears pants? All of my skirts & dresses have been worn several times over the past 15 years. Add to that, skirts are getting harder to find at attractive prices.
33 skirts, from knee length to ankle length, mostly mid-calf length, 3 converted from denim cargo shorts to skirts, 3 nightshirts, 2 unworn pair of denim cargo shorts, 1 raggy pair of denim cargo shorts, full of holes.

I guess I'm getting a bit out of control myself with two horrendously overpriced Macabe ones, two great cord ones, three denim, long black stretch whatever one.. They will never wear out.
Bit over the top on the dresses though, with four of the light denim ones and numerous of the black and the brown in the "T" ones. Really the duplication is about the catalogue never having them again. They fool me though, the t-dresses come back every winter. Never gonna need any more of them, they are hard-wearing and I have heaps! The great light denim ones are gone though, they've replaced them with a too "girly" one! Glad I did get four, and they are not going to wear out in a hurry.
My friend Francis in Ireland says there is a firm there making male skirts and heavier denim dresses. I want to know more!

They "could" be over the trucks too. UPS has nearly as many delivery planes in the air as Fed Ex does. In fact, you might have skirts arriving over the roads and wayyy over the roads by flights too.
