Weather Update

Post by Uncle Al »

Well, the eye of Tropical Storm Hermine went about 150 miles west of
my home. We've had about 12" of rain in the past 2 days, most of it
today. Now, tornadoes are forming east of us about 40-50 miles. They
are headed towards JohnH in Rockwall, TX. Tornado warnings are now
in effect for the DFW Metro Area.

(Time Lapse 6 Minutes)

OK-just took the dog out and the sirens from Cedar Hill, 7 miles south
of our home, have started to go off. Another tornado is forming N.E.
of us about 6 miles. That's to bloody close :!:

I'm shutting down my system :!: :!: :!: :!:

OK - We're all OK :!:
Just more rain. Several buildings near Dallas Love Field (Airport)
were damaged. So far, no loss of life has been reported.

The clouds over my home have almost gone completely away.
Calm winds prevail. The local ABC affiliate has shown the tornadoes
from live pic's from their helicopter. Interesting to watch how they
form and I watched the devastation, on TV, as it happened.

Oh, I guess you could tell that I'm back on line

I have several friends North and North-East of Dallas who I haven't
heard from yet. I will probably call them later. This storm mess
is moving north towards Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Ft. Smith.

With the cold front arching towards Chicago, the storm will be moving
through Kansas City, and end up near the Great Lakes.

I'm sure glad I live in an area where most Hurricanes just pass by while still tropical waves or storms. I remember one that went in your direction after passing us in "tropical wave" strength of 30 mph winds that didn't even shake the aluminum of my mobile home on it's way to Nawleens where it became "Katrina"...In the last 8 years, I've run off to the Miccosukie Hotel and Casino in South Miami 3 times from Rita, Wilma and Katrina, to hide from threatening storms that ALL passed us in tropical wave strength and beat other places to pulp thereafter.

Have a safe "rest of Hurricane season" my friend. :D :D :D
