Comme des Garcons skirts, and comments

Hi,

Someone may have posted this already but I thought you might enjoy this news article about Comme des Garcons' line of skirts. The comments are interesting, in that many of them refer not to the fact of a man in a skirt, but much more about the style of skirts here. What they often say is, "of course, logically men's skirts are ok but not these styles."

And this page [from GQ] includes some skirts they introduced this year too. They're a little floaty for my tastes, but sure, I'd buy one:

Floaty is good; I like floaty; I find that sort of style much more comfortable than the more constricting ones. Especially interesting is item 44 -- that looks suspiciously like a dress! Item 36 is pretty good, too, as is the leftmost look from item 45.

For my tastes, I didn't particularly like the use of the black socks; I feel it destroys the line of the leg, and I don't particularly like the half- and three-quarter- length sleeves. It looks awkward somehow. And don't get me going about the clam-diggers/high-water pants.... But, some of those skirts look quite good; it's all the other baggage that addles the look.

I wonder if any of those looks will make it to retailers; I'd buy some of the skirt styles in a minute, and likely one of the dresses -- especially in something other than the space-alien-head print.

I'm not a huge fan of the print, but I like the poofiness of some of the skirts. Some of the pants styles I find rather bizarre, but go skirts!

"Poofiness?" That may have lost something in the journey across the Atlantic. Here (UK) it would probably be seen as a reference to "gay style" but I suspect that may not be what you meant.

It refers to the fullness and (possibly) lightness of the fabric so it kind of billows (or, "poofs out").

It has precisely nothing to do with a collection of guys down in Oz named Bruce.

haha I learned something new about the word poofiness! Yeah I was just saying that the skirts are rather full.
