In the grand design of things.......

Post by imadube »

Well,
The Great Puppet Master has spoken and Me in skirts is a really bad idea.

My wife and I have been fighting forclosure for a year and a half now. We got denied the modification plan, then we got accepted, then we were kicked off for none payment of the trial period house payment. Which payment was not much less then the real payment. However once I managed got actually get a call back from someone that apperantly matters it was found that we did NOT miss payments and the trial period was reinstated. Several times we have had to resend documents that we had already sent. All this time making payments we could not afford and the reason for the modification. WELL - last weekend I "needed" to find what I had to give "this time" in order to ease our situations. I decided to pack up all my skirts and never wear them again. This was Jun 19th. On Jun 21st the mortage company decided to put us BACK on the modification plan and trial period at $400+ LESS then we were paying! We recieved notice on the 22nd!

SO - the Great Puppet Master of my life once again has won his way!
No longer skirted and actually getting a better life for it.

SO good luck all - I am outta here.

Can't believe your using some supposed threatened repossession of your house to leave the following!

Just kidding, all the best in your life as a regular guy. 8)

TBH I threw out my skirts yesterday (no, Skip, not from reading this!) but because family life was getting strained. I had been out of work for a while and the mrs didn't like me spending what little cash I had on kilts and skirts. I bought a kilt and that triggered WorldWar Three, she said to me "it's me or your nasty clothes!" I had to weigh things up and I want to spend time getting to know my my kids and for them to feel comfortable around me. My son is teased because his dad wears 'a skirt' and I don't want him teased at this time in his life.

I told my mrs my decision, we're going to work hard, and the skirts are gone. She said she can understand kilts, but can't get her head around the skirts. She has seen this site and she said she didn't want me to be 'one of them'. Unpleasant I know but I've gotta work on improving my lot in life. I had a job interview and secured some work so at least bills are getting paid now.

I spend a lot of time on Ford forums now, and am more at X Marks than here, though things here have been interesting, to use my mrs' words.

I'm outta here too.

To imadube: I'm saddened to hear what the proceedings of the past year have visited upon you, and my thoughts are with you. Persevere through this, and you'll likely emerge from the other end a better and stronger individual. Remember, you're always welcome here; you've got the "stuff" that makes you really unique (unlike everybody else) -- cherish and nurture that at every turn you can.

To kilty: I am sorry that things have gone so badly between you and your wife; a fervent hope I hold is that those of us who "have the cubes" to wear skirts will eventually be accepted, especially by those closest to us. Remain strong; the pull of skirts is a powerful one -- especially for those of us who have tossed the shackles of "convention". Things may come 'round, although not possibly tomorrow. Go in peace, and recall that you are welcome here if you decide to return.

I see the departure of the both of you as a sad event, for it means that "convention" has triumphed. "Convention" need not triumph, nor does it necessarily deserve to do so. I view what's happened here as a symptom of the malaise that's gripping many of us in the "Western" economic world. Unless there are clear and compelling reasons to modify our behaviour, I'll posit that we're doing ourselves a disservice. Where there are compelling reasons to do so, I'll posit that we'd be better off -- in the long haul -- to change our surroundings; idiots are not worthy of our company.
