Some nice looks other than the trousers, nice to see it more mainstream.

Very nice. In three of the twenty images the models were wearing a co-ordinated
suit coat & trousers with a kilt.
ONLY thing objectionable is "Why the damn pants?"
Kilts & skirts for that fact are not worn with pants!
With skirts maybe leggings or tights but not pants!
If over the calf (knee) sox are not enough to keep the legs warm then just maybe
one of two things: kilts are not worn in the polar regions (artica/antartica) for obvious reasons
and/or the wearer-person is not really manly enough to wear a kilt in the first place!
But in this case an inside the building fashion runway - no excuse for the blatantly stupid
demonstration of how not to wear a kilt!
"One step forward and two back!"

"Kilt-On"
rm
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

I looked at the photos and was very impressed. The overal look of the skirt outfits is pleasing and effective masculine style. I agree, for myself, I would not like to wear these skirt items along with pants. I would feel overloaded with clothing. But trying to keep a really open mind here, I think skirt with pants is an acceptable direction to go for many men. I guess that most men would have a really difficult time ever getting to try on a skirt, at all. So I regard these pant/skirt styles as transitional. Maybe some guys will be tempted to try skirts if they can wear the pants too. Later, they might get rid of the pants. But if there is any way to get more skirted garments onto guys then I say go for it. Its slow progress but its going in the right direction.

If you go to http://www.pringlescotland.com/

and select mensware then preview AW10 there are better pictures there,

If you click over the picture they give a breakdown with components of the outfits, The pants and Kilt are not one garment rather the kilt worn over the pants, I actually like the look of the charcoal kilt.

For the first time in ages the outfits are something that could be worn in the highstreet rather than coture.

I think the wearing the kilt over pants came from the same trend last year of women doing the same thing, personally I dont like the look, It could be uncomfortable having thoes layers as well.

I know the last time pringle did kilts for me they had them with socks,

I prefere the pringles look over the H&M look, its looks more masculine. I also like the whole move away from tartans as well, here in ireland a lot of the kilts were solid colours.

I just hope pringle dont decide to charge €1000 euros for the kilts

One question Irishguy, down in the crotch area, do they feel like a skirt or pants?? Looks like pants to me. Having a plastic TRUCK attached to the top of a cow, does not make it a truck.

Those are TROUSERS. Not skirts, just trousers with something over them.. The whole object of skirts is comfort that trousers do not give us. I'll wait and see if they put out a line of skirts WITHOUT pants/trousers under them. :blue:

I looked at the 2nd post with the movie in it. I have one question again. Other than the guy that looked like a 1950's British Rocker with thin tie and white shirt, and the kid in gray, it's all black. Where's the FUNERAL? :blue: I want to ENJOY my clothing. :hide:

Well if you wear pants under a kilt i am sure they will feel like pants, if you go to the pringle website they sell the garments seperetly, so thats a good thing for sure.

Personally i have grown to hate trousers and while i wear trousers when i have to, I am far happier in a kilt or skirt.

Let's look at the up-side of this, guys.

OK, we don't want to wear trousers, but what we have here is a VERY conservative, respectable and fairly upmarket, menswear manufacturer introducing the notion of skirts for men. The message that sends out is that skirts are no longer taboo - they are an option. Others will follow, and will undoubtedly ditch the trouser part when the weather warms up.

This can only be interpreted as a positive development.

damn, those suits look GOOD.

don't make an issue of the pants, they are there to "soften the blow" to the majority of the public that hasn't accepted skirts on men.

plus, i think that any guy willing to buy a suit that has a skirt is highly unlikely to want to buy it AND buy pnts to wear under it. they've already taken the plunge, and the pants would be back-pedalling.

i like the styles and colors (i'm naturally a black/grey/earth-tones kind of guy, and have only in the last year or so ventured into other colors), these suits will appeal to the crowd that hasn't been introduced via utilikilts/tripp/etc.

i think it's a WONDERFUL step forward.

If you click on one of the stills in AW10 there is a link that says something like more information. The one for the grey "skirt" near the end of the second page calls it a kilt. I'll let others with better knowledge debate whether it really is. :?

I think this is a step in the right direction, because if men start wearing skirts with pants than sooner or later they'll start wearing just skirts by themselves. Overall I like the look though I'd ditch the pants.

Well they are kilts, i really like the dark charcole kilt, Has anyone checked out http://www.21stcenturykilts.com, They are doign a trendy line as well.

The traditionlists would prefere tartan, but then again here in ireland, tartan was rarly worn and it was all solid colours.

I guess its what you are used to and comfortable with.
