I thought the article was ok but there are some horrible comments about the person which I thought were uncalled-for.

I waded through some of the comments, including the negative ones suggesting he should get 'professional help" - sound to me as if the comment maker needs help to widen his/her outlook on life. One of the best comments, before the thread descended into name-calling, was:
I don't see the big deal. Women wear "men's" jeans, pants, men's shirts, boxers and even panties called boy shorts. No-one blinks an eye. If a guy wears anything even close to being feminine... "Oh My".
Get over it people. Wear what you want. It's just clothing and to me, it takes a real man to wear what is considered "women's" clothing.
I've seen comments elsewhere of the type "I'm a real man, I don't wear skirts (or do anything associated with women, such as washing up, housework etc.)" So I think it must take a real, real man to wear a skirt, which we could denote as R2man e.g. R2men wear skirts

If you disregard the personal comments (both about people in the article and about others on the forum) the balance of reactions to the UK itself are about what I'd expect in web responses and range across the spectrum from "Good for him, he makes his own decisions" to "They're not for me, I'm too macho (translate: I'm not sufficiently secure in myself)" via "OK, each to his own".

Actually, the most telling aspect of a selection of comments like this is how personal and bile filled they become as the various posters begin to inflate their chests and then degenerate into a pi**ing contest. It all serves to remind me how glad I am that this little corner of the electric interweb is here. Long may the Skirt Café continue.

Have fun,

Ian.

Well after reading those comments anyone can see why I am still at my Tennessee home in my skirts. Try living with all those folks around you.
