DVDs for our troops!

Post by DALederle »

Recently my wife came home and told me a woman in her office was looking for DVDs to send over to her her brother, stationed in Afghanistan. It seems he sent her an e-mail telling her how bored the guys get sometimes and when someone accidentially sent them a DVD of Strawberry Shortcake they were delighted and watch it over and over.
So I went around and rounded some DVDs I had that we had watched and weren't going to watch again. I also sent some I knew I could replace on the $5 rack at Wallymarket. They were glad to get the DVDs to send over there.
It turns out that DVDs are much better to send then the old VHS tapes ever were, because the DVDs can be played on lap top and computers too. Sp more people get to see them and they can pass them around easily.
If you have someone you know in our military, in a far off of place like that, give thought to sending them some DVDs. Even the one on the dollar racks would probably be enjoyed by the troops fighting overseas.
This is NOT about the war or the kind of war being fought. It is about supporting our troops who are away from their homes and loved ones, making a sacrifice for all of us.

I wonder what the rules would be concerning DVD's I copied off TV...? I have up to 3 or 4 movies on each DVD made that way..Lets see, I could send someone in the thick of battle, "Apoc Now Redux", "Full Metal Jacket" and John Wayne's rendition of "The Green Berets"...They'd say things like "I believed all that sht before I came here" hehehe..or 6 episodes of "True Blood"..just what they need.. LOL
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

"True Blood"?

Do you mean the HBO series based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris?? Or did you mean something else?
