Not posting much lately

Post by Uncle Al »

To All--I've been remiss......

I've had the flu, and just didn't feel well enough to post much
of anything. Pigs did not fly in my case--just the regular ol' bug! :pukel:
I'm just getting around to really reading posts and responding to
some of them.

To All New Patrons----A belated Welcome!

Uncle Al:

We enjoyed your absence!

"NOW get back to work entertaining us!"

No emoticons/similies were hurt in the posting of this post!
Simply put they were not used!

LOL ! ! !

Sorry you were ill when we needed you the most!

Get well you hear!

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Thanks Bob :!:

r.m.---I had a really good laugh at this one....
you scoundralious skirted Northerner who must have
frigidly soaked legs wading the flood waters of the
frozen northern states - Now, come in out of the cold
and thaw out

Jack - Yes, the PM's and email came through just fine.
Unfortunately, a loooong T-shirt for you is still too short
for me. I've found a few alternatives and will try them
out before posting any ideas or results.

Now--The Bad News...........

My sister-in-law (wife's sister) was having dry skin problems.
Her husband purchased a 'skin cream' to help her get rid of
the dryness. Well, it had a turpentine base. She had an
allergic reaction to the cream. She went to the Doctor who
prescribed a medication (cipro) to counter the allergic reaction.
This back-fired ROYALLY! She went into annaphalactic(sp) shock.
Spent 4 days in the hospital's ICU unit. Yesterday, we drove
her mother 275 miles south of us, to the hospital. While we
were there, we found that the agressive attack on the 'shock'
by the hospital helped to save her life. Her kidneys shut down-
-Completely! She went through 15 bags of IV fluid. Her kidneys
have recovered, the swelling has come down. We arrived home
tonight.

For those Cafe' members in the U.S.-you'll get a kick out of my
sister-in-law's comment. She said that as swollen as she was,
she could have qualified as the Michlein Tire Man's daughter. :)

Even with the pain she was enduring, along with the pain meds,
she still had a sense of humor :!:

OK--We're tired (no pun intended) and going to bed.

P.S.--I wore my Postal Blue Utilikit and my Black Watch Stillwater kilt
for the entire 2 day trip. I was quite comfortable and received many
positive comments. On the last stop on our trip home(to get Orange Juce
and candy--blood sugar to low) the cashier asked if we were at a
rennasance(sp) fair or Celtic event. I told her no, I was wearing the
kilt for two reasons. 1st is comfort--Can't beat a kilt for comfort in
the Texas heat. 2nd is--most women work to keep their 'girls' healthy
so men should work to keep 'The Boys' healthy! She thought amoment
and whole heartally agreed. Men's health is important and not
something to brush off.

I'm sorry to hear of all your travails, Al, but am pleased that things are working out for you and your sister-in-law!

The importance of humour in wellness is all-too-often not held in high enough esteem. Sometimes it literally can make the difference between life and death.
