No Touch Sports

Last night on HBO I watched Bryant Gumbel's "Sports of the 20th century" and one of the segments was about the removal of "Dodge Ball" from Elementary schools in America. Too violent they say. They also are instituting "No touch" policies. Everything that "used" to be a touch is now a shadow touch, high fives stop an inch short, hugs are 2 kids with their arms encircling each other without touching. When an athletic event happens, both the winners and the losers get identical trophies. The reason? They don't want any children feeling like "losers".

I can see the football, soccer, basketball, wrestling teams of the future..no touching...Can you picture Ricky Hatton and Manny Pacquiao(sp.) dancing around the ring shadow boxing for a million dollars? Or maybe $25.... dollars..or maybe paying the audience to watch..:(

With some really high brow classical music to listen to while we wait for Hatton or Pacquiao to pass out from boredom. :?

Speaking of "no touch" and referring back the kids encircling each other with arms instead of hugging, what happens in about 15 years when all these "no touch" kids start thinking about making families. I'd think making a family would be really difficult without at least "some" touching.. :alien: :hide: :alien:
