TomH,

When you get the 'Pop-up' saying you have a new message
waiting for you, click on the 'X' box in the upper right corner.
Then, at the top of the main index page, next to your name,
is the words New Messages with a number in
front of the words. It probably says the number 1. The
'pop-up' will continue to appear until you click on New Messages.
Then, just click on the message that appears in the new box.
That will open the message. When you 'back-Arrow' to get out
of the messages and back to the main index, the 'pop-up' will
not re-appear until you get a new message.

Hope this info helps :!:

Thanks for clearing that up, Uncle Al.

I might add that it's possible to turn off the pop-up "feature" in the "User Control Panel". Pop-ups drive me berserk, so I have them disabled globally on my browsers (those that support them, that is).

Thanks guys. I thought I had done that, and almost sure I did, but the thing would not go away. Of course now, it's a different day so anything I thought I'd done could be my imagination. I'm quite good at handling computers and get request from my friends for help all the time. I've always been able to 'fix' their problems... Today, all is well for me on this forum.

Part of the problem was, I wondered if I was missing something important, so allowed Firefox to show me the pop up. The rest is history... After sending my first note here, I went back into Firefox and took this site off the list to allow pop ups again. I normally only have one on that list, my provider has a habit of putting one up once in awhile for important messages. Now today after a shut down last night, everything is normal. No notice of a pop up blocked or any other weird activity.

I wonder if I had myself in a loop of browser pages? We are experiencing a mechanical break down of our main vehicle right now and my mind is busy with that, so might have missed my dumb moment. I keep reading and thinking here and a couple other sites to give my mind some 'normal' activity while I fix the perplexing and expensive stuff.
