A Quick Note.....
A Quick Note.....
Hello All!
Just a quick note to say my wife is in the hospital. Some of the
things we thought were happening, thanks to an MRA, were
wrong. But, her Blood Pressure is still climbing, and her Migraine
has worsened. Now, she is on a depacote i.v. drip. She is in
LA-LA-Land, and I've come home to let the dog out, get the mail,
check the email, get her some clean 'undies', eat and head back
to the hospital. She MAY get to come home around 24:00HRS,
but knowing her, she will have to stay the night.
OK--Bye for now!

Re: A Quick Note.....
Carl,
Thanks! She is spending the night as the meds are not
working the way the Doctor wanted. He is trying some-
thing else. Her B.P. was 177/101, pulse 107 which is all
still to high. He still thinks that now, her migraine is
affecting her B.P. He has her on an I.V. to get fluids
back into her, and using a different nausea medication.
That nausea med, after 15-20 min., puts her back into
La-La land. She was asleep when I left around 12:30AM.
BTW-I was wearing my Postal Blue UK, and one of the
male nurses asked about it. I gave him info about
Utilikilts and Still Water Kilts. We may have another
convert to the MUG world!
Well, I'm off to bed!
Good Night All!

I do hope that the medical fraternity can come up with the reasons for Mrs Al's condition and alleviate, if not totally cure it. My thoughts and best wishes to you both.

Re: A Quick Note.....
Al -- It's good to hear that she's off to sleep; sleep is critical in the restorative process, and with luck she's not aware of the migraine whilst asleep. Here's hoping everything else does the trick and that there'll be happy news in the "Film at 11" clip!
Best wishes!

Re: A Quick Note.....An Update.....
To All!
Update: If Debbies numbers keep improving like
they are, she will get to come home from the
hospital tomorrow. Probably in the afternoon.
Her migraine pain is way down, BP is almost
normal and her Blood Sugar is approaching
acceptable limits. She was coherent tonight.
She was watching a bit of TV when I left the
hospital.
Things are looking good!

Re: A Quick Note.....
Thank Goodness, Al, migraines are terrible, I've been having them since I was 45, they started with me about 2 years after my hereditary post nasal drip problem started. I use Excedrin Migraine extra strength pills for them. Only over the counter pill I've found that really works quickly for them. I usually take 3 at a time with milk so they don't upset my tummy.
Modern hospitals, (with all their new advances) are sometimes more dangerous to just BE in than hospitals of the 70's or before. Far more chances of extreme virii in the air these days. I was in the hospital for a week in April finding out I had a duodenal ulcer with an "up and down" procedure that "after" it was over and found an ulcer, left behind something I'd never had problems with, a virus or bacteria in my lungs. I was a professional diver most of my life and "had" very good lungs. Oversized from holding breath for long periods repeatedly, no smoking for life, no living in polluted areas. Now, after the procedure, I cough constantly, am eating Halls mentholyptus cough drops like candy to stop the coughing, if I don't eat a drop for 20 minutes I start coughing again. My voice is getting hoarse from the coughing and I'm feeling a lot the worse for wear. Short of breath, which I've never been before, and talking to a lawyer to see about a lawsuit against the hospital.
I hope Mrs. Uncle Al gets better quickly and has no leftover problems. Good luck to you both Al.

Re: A Quick Note.....Last Update
Hello to All!
Well, Debbie was dismissed at 3:40PM. We stopped at
Tom Thumb for a new Rx, some groceries, and now dinner
is in the oven. Her BP came down to 131/81, pulse 97. She
still has a headache, but she says it at a pain level of 1.5-2.0
which is much better than what she was at. Her Blood Sugar
is down to 202, which is high but managable. She is to go
back to the Dr's office tomorrow for a new diabetes medicine.
It is similar to Byetta, but will not have the side affect of a
headache. She will be on a combo of Januvia or Janumet(not
sure which) and the new med, Alym(sp). The main thing is
she's home, watching TV and getting ready for pizza.
Thanks for all your support and prayers!

You know, it doesn't get much better than that. Thanks for the update, and I'll still stream best wishes off to the southwest! (raises eyes, glass, and heart.)
