I Might Have To Leave
I might have to leave the café as I might have give up wearing my tailor made caftans as I’ve been given an opportunity I’ve long desired. I’ve been asked to be involved in a classical liberal/libertarian oriented think tank & having an odd appearance which wearing a caftan is will get in the way of any message I’m trying to sell. Its unfortunate but when you sell any radical message you need to conform so you don’t get in the way of the message you’re selling. As some of you will know I’ve strong political convictions but I’ve often found it hard to establish avenues to channel those convictions so I can’t let this opportunity slip.
There’s one obstacle I need to deal with before I know for sure that this will happen. I’ll know with in a month though if I’m leaving.

Ziggy,
Best wishes on the 'Think Tank'. This is a huge step and I
hope all works out well for you.
Now, when you said you would have to leave......Did you
mean the Cafe' or the UK
If it is leaving the UK, I hope
the move is not to far. The Cafe' however, is just a 'click'
away, and it's open 24/7. You could always use a 'laptop'
to access the Cafe' instead of any 'Think Tank Computer'.
I don't get to wear kilts or skirts every day, but that doesn't
keep me from visiting the Cafe'
In either case, Don't Be A Stranger!
Here you're always welcome!

Re: I Might Have To Leave
When I meet leave I meant here the SkirttCae no point if I'm going back to being a conformisted suited & booted. Though I'd be keeping my fashion site however concerning that I might convert it into just an 'alternative fashion' site without reference to MFF.
Re: I Might Have To Leave
Hi Ziggy,
I'd be inclined to say that there is no need to leave. I know that other things may be more important than your choice of clothing and so you may choose to dress more conventionally, however if you do not lose your interest in fashion freedom (and based on you active involvement to date, I can't imagine that you will) I can see no reason why you should stop reading the posts here at the café or replying to those that interest you.
If you do decide not to contribute you will be missed, I don't always agree with you but your views are worth considering and help me to keep my own opinions in perspective. Whatever you decide, your contributions to date will remain a testimony to your past involvement.
Have fun,
Ian.

Do not argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Hey Ziggy, if you "CHOOSE" to leave the Cafe, that's your personal prerogative, and all I can say is "Que Sera Sera!" which means, "Whatever will be will be"
I'm confused on why would you tell us this? People come and go from sites all the time and never feel the need to "announce" their decision. Things happen and we all have to make choices. I just can't imagine going to all the sites I've been a member of that I'm no longer a member of and announcing why I'm leaving one site or another in my wake. As the famous lounge singer Frank Sinatra sang: ~~That's life~~you've got to live it~~

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

Re: I Might Have To Leave
I personally think your reasoning is flawed. But you gotta do what you think you gotta do.
Or do you?
How about being an advocate with his own style? Why a blasted suit? Or how about go for a well fitted skirt suit. Hillary gets away with a pants suit, why can't you get away with the oposite?

Re: I Might Have To Leave
I understand how being in certain positions means that you have to keep an "image" up almost all the time. Politics being one of them. If you're trying to push an agenda that's controversial, you don't want to give people any reason to doubt you. Wearing a skirt right now might give those people that reason, but then again, we underestimate people many times because of what we assume they want or will respond with. I would say what you do on your own time is your own business, their time is theirs.

Looking at the recent political circus in the USA, I don't think the "p*nts-suit" (Yeuk! I just HATE that phrase!Pythos wrote: Hillary gets away with a pants suit, why can't you get away with the oposite?

Re: I Might Have To Leave
I was at an interview yesterday at Ameriprise for the FA position and there were 5 other women there, and only one (black woman who was very nice and smart) wearing a skirt, the others all had "tr*users" on.
