Can anyone help with sizing please?

Post by Derek Plattis »

Hello all,

Today I picked up a very nice jacket in a UK charity shop for £9.99.

I'm not sure whether it is a man's or a woman's jacket (either way it doesn't bother me). It has no obvious tailoring for bust fitting so I guess it's a man's one and possibly from a suit.

It is practically as new so I'm well pleased with it

It has the label 'Bogart' in it and a size label which bears the following information:

D 28
NL 28
A 28
CH 28
B 656
F 656

I've checked international clothing size charts and can't seem to make sense of these figures - I'm about a 44" chest I think and it fits me perfectly.

I bought it to wear with a very nice long, pleated blue skirt when I go out to the theatre next weekend.

Can anybody tell me about the origin and about the sizing figures please?

Derek:
Since you are in the UK try this link:
http://www.bogart.co.uk/
Perhaps going to the source will give you the answer you seek.
I also can not come up with anything other than a wild guess:
D = Germany
NL = Netherlands (Holland)
A = Austria
CH = Switzerland
B = Belgium
F = France
The numbers do not correspond with metric sizing for men or women?
Was thinking that perhaps the numbers represent the color of the jacket?
Bogart from what I can gather only makes mens clothing.
Check out the link and let us know what you found out.

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !
