Massive Men in SKirts Sighting

Post by sapphire »

This morning I was at a friend's home. We went outside and she pointed out a collection of African people. Both the women and the men were in long skirts/dresses/robes, ie traditional African costume.

They must have either been going to church or coming from church.

The outfits were so colorful and beautiful. There must have been about 20 people in the group and they looked great.

I bet that was a very enjoyable colourful scene.

If only we could achieve the same, often enough to get positive publicity...

Both the men AND their girl friends, / partners, ofr even daughters / sons, but it is imperative that all, of which a 50 - 50 mix of men and women, are wearing skirts / or dresses. All are skirted. That way it will show that there is acceptance from very close by, nearer to home is impossible. As that is where I think the biggest problem really lies.

The more men that are seen with their partners, with the man at least in a skirt cq dress, the better. As how many times have I heard that women tend to say that men should wear what they want, but as soon as it is their own man, ooooh :? :( they are most often nowhere to be found with regards to supporting him.

If only we could do something about THAT fenomenon then we would really be in business, as acceptance from others is in the real world mostly no issue. Of course there may be extreme groups who make the exception.
A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.

Actually, they were all in traditional African garb. There is a church nearby that promotes the wearing of garb and it is so beautiful to see.

At this church, which is multinational, wearing of traditional garb is encouraged. At Pentecost, all the peoples come together and recite Bible verses in their own native languages.

So beautiful to see and hear.

What was strange was that my friend who is African/American did not understand this and that I had to explain.

From what I've seen of native africans who come over to the US. They seem like much more manly men than most of the white ones over here, or some of the black ones even.

If you insulted or claimed that they were wearing something that looked feminine to you, they would get insulted and probably pretty mad. Again, this is with most that I've met being very comfortable in who they are. Not like most american men who seem to always try and prove themselves or their masculinity.
