Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
AMM wrote:This morning I wore a calf-length day-glo green-and-magenta skirt with tiny Time-square style lights on the hem, my American flag tights, purple rollerblades, a blue skin-tight velvet shirt with a contour map of Texas on it, a big black Batman-style cape that stuck way out, and a big straw sombrero with a plaid hatband. I was rolling down the sidewalk on my way to the village helipad, and so many drivers turned to look at me and ran into trees and utility poles that the street was blocked. I never made it to my helicopter flight because the police picked me up and brought me to the village police station. There, I shared a cell with a man in a great kilt and a Scottish brogue and a guy in a monk's robe, who was in for helping illegal refugees. The monk and I traded clothes, so when I went to village court, the judge thought I was another judge and let me off with a warning. I'm posting the pattern for the monk's robe on my website, and I plan to make another one in gold lame'.
quite a few things, depending on the time... last one was coming home from a business meeting in a dark denim mini, black tshirt (sinful one) and flip flops. Driving back home was fun wearing that.
On a narrowboat holiday during the past week, all day everyday a black miniskirt with a selection of T shirts.
On and off the boat (locks, etc) and in the evenings in the pub, there were a few short-lived stares (though that could have been more at the sight of my bad leg and its caliper) but absolutely no comments.
After a shower and drying off, put on sheer energy suntan hose, control top. Black Yin and yang shirt, black leather mini skirt, combat boots (for lack of a better term), loose belt, and a black leather coat. Went out to a fairly new friends' house for thrillville movie viewing (awful B movies that make one laugh).
Second time I have worn this skirt outside of my house, and found it quite nice to wear. The movie "theater" was outside in their backyard, with a projection unit, and surround sound. Quite awesome really. Despite the fact it was quite chilly, and I had to wear my coat outside, my legs stayed at a nice temperature. If I had gone barelegged I would have froze. The skirt wanted to slide up a tad too high every now and then, but it did not go so high you could see the reinforced panty of my hose.
Reaction by people at the gathering was good to indifferent. Which was nice. It was nice going out skirted after such a long pause. The hose felt wonderful all night, and the sight of my legs in them coming out from the hem of my skirt was nice. I don't see why women could not find attraction in that image. The skirt felt heavenly as it gently slid over my legs and hose covered bum. Guys should not be denied this feeling.
I was apprehensive about wearing this skirt tonight, but blew that aside and went out with my friend and enjoyed myself.
Now I have to take the outfit off and go to sleep.
Nice outing.

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !
Today, took part in a assertivity training, and did some shopping, it was a lovely warm and sunny day. ( finally)
I was wearing women's sandals, white. http://www.theshoemart.com/cgi-bin/cate ... 6523-00153
A white linnen skirt, knee length,
A white short sleeved blouse, with a very fine flower all over.
A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.
This morning, Levi's 550 jeans with a navy blue t-shirt and hiking boots with black kneesocks underneath. Had a job interview. After the interview, changed out of the jeans into a navy blue knee-length pleated skirt with everything else the same.
Currently wearing a navy blue mini, otherwise, the same outfit as earlier. Kinda warm and muggy this evening.
This is a bit 'late' but on Sunday, I wore my Black Watch
SWK, white shirt and over-the-calf/knee high black
support hose with brown shoes. ( My black ones bit the dust. )
We went to see The Chronicals of Narnia-Prince Caspian,
and felt great! Then we went to Panera's for lunch. One
of the men coming out of the restaurant said he used to
have a sport coat in Black Watch. He said he really liked
the kilt. I told him about SWK's website. He smiled

When asked 'Why the Kilt?'
I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)
I had gone on my bycicle, to the city, 6 km's from my home. I was wearing a short 38 cm Denim mini, with 3/4 length gray leggings, brown women's sandals, a grey striped tank top, and a grey ( woman's) vest with 2/3 arms. I spoke to a woman while waiting for the rain to stop and had recieved compliments for looking good. The day before, I had recieved very spontaneous compliments from a shop keepster, a young woman, "you are looking good, SUPER!" especially in the skirt and leggings.
I said thanks, my day can't get any better.
There ARE women who appreciate men looking good, even if it may be somewhat femme.
Ps I think that there are many men who have more colourful feelings, call it femme if you wish, than they show, dare to show, being somewhat "scared" to show that, them being a man. Men don't have to be women, heaven forbid, but showing the person you actually are, man or female is what we all should be doing. I hope that men wearing skirts are wearing that which they really want to wear.
