Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
I """Love"""" you guys and the odd lady amongst you.

i have to admit that the ladies who support us are different from the norm, but "odd" may be a strong term for them.

We have been to the States (North Carolina) visiting family for a couple of weeks. The SkirtCafe family atmosphere is one to look forward to on return home.
We went to a Celtic Festival and Highland Games at Historic Bethabara Park on Saturday (May 10th) and met many men (and women) in their clan tartan kilts and a few single colour Utilikilts too. I didn't wear my Unionkilt to that, as I expected the weather to be too hot, although I did wear the kilt several days on my visit. Generally, my kilt was well accepted (or even congratulated) in North Carolina, but not so well at Newark Airport on the way there and back, where I got several disapproving stares.
Colin, you must remember Newark Liberty is an international airport,
and most people there aren't from here. I live about 30min from there
and trust me on this, in the greater Newark area like NYC, NOTHING is
unusual. Those with the disaproving looks were probably from out of
town. BTW you did fly into Newark NJ not Newark Del didn't you?
clothes have no gender shop both sides of the aisle
01/01/08, Yes Newark, NJ (EWR-Liberty). I take the point that the people there were mainly on their way through and not local. I didn't realise that anyone from SkirtCafe lived so near, though.
