Kinky Boots

Post by sapphire »

No NOT a fetish!

"Kinky Boots" is a movie made in 2005 about a man who inherits his father's shoe factory in Northamptonshire. The business comes close to failing and is rescued by a TV who reinvents the business making boots for TVs.

It is a sweet flick with a twist and is currently airing on BBCA. Friday Nov 27

I did not expect to enjoy the film and only went to see it because Carole wanted to but I have to say I rather enjoyed it. Now, if I can just find someone who actually makes boots in my size without going the kinky route (and definitely without spiky heels) I'd be a very happy bunny, if a little poorer.

Have fun,

Ian.

The film is based on a true story of a shoe manufacturer who diversified as they lost their traditional market as cheaper imports edged them out.

I saw that movie, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I think they should have named it "Kinky Legwear" tho..most of those "boots" went almost to the crotch. I think naming it Kinky works tho, lots of "live girls" saloons' pole/lap dancers have similar boots. Not that I'd go into a place like that. I've seen them on TV..."To Live and Die in L.A." with William Petersen and Willem Dafoe. :alien:  :alien:
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

I can recommend Evans http://www.evans.co.uk for footwear. They have some cracking stuff, up to 10 in E and EEE widths and not too wildly expensive in the grand scheme of things. Depends what sort of thing you're looking for of course!

Evans clothing shoes & boots:

In case some of you are wondering - isn't a 10 a bit small?
Use the conversion chart - that 10 is a UK 10 = a USA 12!

And Evans clothing sizes are again UK sizing which converts
to a smaller USA number; i.e. UK 20 = a USA 16.

Strange observation: the boots/shoes UK size number is smaller
yet equals a larger USA size number AND the clothing is oddly
reversed the UK size is larger than its counterpart in the USA!

BUT very importantly - to measure with a tape measure to
make sure you are actually measuring with the same data.
Noteably Evans shoes & boots have such measurements.
When browsing shoes/boots click on the size guide for pix
of the critical measurments.

"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly a 10 (even a UK 10) is too small for me :(

The closest I've found is a web site entitled "All Heels For Men" and that is were I got my one and so far only pair of high heels. In a size 15. An actual men's 15. 1-1/2" stacked heel and squared toed. I really enoy them and they fit fine right away. And, like riding a bike it all came back to me (how to walk in heels) almost as soon as I put them on.
But those are much lower then the ones shown in the movie. Yes I watched "Kinky Boots" on BBC America and then bought a copy of the movie to show my friends. Some of whom enjoyed it.
I am struck by the current fashion trends in the height of heels being worn today.
I remember, growing up and high heels were about 1" to 2" but no higher that my mother and other wore back in the 1950s and 1960s. The height of heels went up in the 1970s for a while but then seemed to go back down again.
But all the women on TV and in movies seem to be wearing 3" or higher heels now. And the nail thin spike heel has come back again too.
I wonder when the upward trend in heels will go back down?

Thanks for that Dennis,

Most of their boots are a bit too "specialist" for me and I do not require high heels, however these caught my eye and look to be available in my size. I now have to check out whether they will ship to the UK and at what cost.

Have fun,

Ian,

Those boots would be great for my Santa suit.
I'd just need to add some 'fur' or use some short
leather strips to attach 3 'jingle bells' to each boot.
