"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Re: To all U.S. Cafe' Patrons
Happy Thanksgiving, all.
On the topic of birds, I just got woken up by a page from work and had to get up to fix a problem in the UK (well, 2 actually). My computer looks out over our side-yard and a commotion outside caught my eye -- a juvenile hawk had just taken a mouse (or something similar). It's finishing off its breakfast as I type this.

Anybody grossing out on a Tducken this year? (Chicken stuffed inside a Duck stuffed inside a turkey) One of the more bizarre ideas to come from the U.S.

Sorry, no Turducken. The cost of one of these 'birds' is very high.Sarongman wrote:Anybody grossing out on a Tducken this year? (Chicken stuffed inside a Duck stuffed

An idea from the US? I hardly think so, the multi-bird roast was been around at royal banquets long before the days when explorers from Europe discovered the USA.Sarongman wrote:Anybody grossing out on a Tducken this year? According to one (modern) recipe the full monty starts with a quail, ends with an ostrich and will feed around 250 people.
Have fun,
Ian.

Re: To all U.S. Cafe' Patrons
Personally, I never heard of either set of birds in a meal mentioned, and I was born in the USA. We DO have some crazy food things, like the Nathan's World Championships of hotdog eating in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York City, every year where the use of hands is almost incidental, stuffing as many as 3 hotdogs and rolls and a half cup of water in at a time. A skinny 100 pound Japanese had won it 4 years in a row and all the huge guys fell by the wayside as he ate up to 100 hotdogs in 10 minutes. You discharge any out of any orifice while "eating", you get disqualified.
You want to watch piggy humans in action, Eating contests are the place to go.

(Thanx to Kris for corrections)

FWIW, that's in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York City, rather than New Jersey.Since1982 wrote:Personally, I never heard of either set of birds in a meal mentioned, and I was born in the USA.
